Table Manners Brings European Comfort Food To Bronte

Eat, Sydney / 11 June 2024

Bronte’s new eatery Table Manners is serving up comfort etiquette through delicious European eats.

There’s a sense of anticipation brewing in Bronte, with a new local eatery set to grace the Macpherson Street scene in late winter. Table Manners, the brainchild of respected hospitality figure Alex Cameron (formerly of Franca, Parlar and Armorica), promises a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where European classics are reimagined for a contemporary palate.

Taking over the former Wet Paint venue, Table Manners will be divided into two distinct spaces. Sink into one of the six plush bar stools and enjoy a pre-dinner drink or a relaxed evening with friends. Or visit the larger 75-seat dining room, bathed in a warm candlelit glow, which invites long-lasting meals and conversation. Renowned interior designer Blainey North has created a space that resonates with the European influences on the menu, with soft textures and hues of green and caramel complemented by striking artwork.

Bronte locals can expect a welcoming and familiar atmosphere at Table Manners. Cameron, a resident himself, is passionate about creating a space that feels like an extension of home. “The opportunity to take over the Wet Paint site is exciting,” he says, “I hope Table Manners will become a neighbourhood favourite, a place where people feel comfortable returning time and again.”

The menu, influenced by the culinary traditions of Italy, France and the United Kingdom, offers a delightful mix of familiar and unexpected dishes. Think crab pain perdu (a savoury take on French toast), a reimagined club sandwich, and crisp spaghetti with king prawns.

The beverage program reflects a similar philosophy. Expect a curated wine list featuring classic producers alongside exciting new finds and lesser-known varietals. For cocktail enthusiasts, a tight list of expertly crafted classics with seasonal twists will be on offer.

Table Manners promises to be a welcome addition to Bronte’s vibrant dining scene and has cemented itself as an individual in a segment of the neighbourhood that’s been missing a hot dining spot. The new venue is slated to open in late winter 2024 for dinner Wednesday through Sunday. and for lunch from Friday to Sunday.
