A Vegan Fritterie and Chai Bar Opens in Sydney’s CBD

Drink, Eat, Sydney / 12 June 2019

This new spot is Delhi-vering vibrant vegan delights to the CBD.

Vegan lunchtime options in the CBD just got a sprinkle more spice with Flyover Fritterie, the new Indian Fritterie and Chai Bar offering a taste of Delhi to Sydney’s CBD. Opening down Temperance Lane just off George Street, this all-vegan hole-in-the-wall hangout is changing the lunch game for CBD workers.

Flyover Fritterie Storefront

The all vegan spot has a limited menu, with just four food items available, including some gluten free options. If decision making is not your forte, you are in luck.

The crunchy, spicy ‘fritters of the day’ are served in cute takeaway cones, topped with homemade chutneys. The remaining food items are Australian takes in Indian classics, including an Indian-inspired stew, burger and salad.

Warm up on a cold winter’s day with the Quinoa Khichri a mung bean and quinoa based stew, with house pickles fritters and chutney, or for a lighter lunch, there’s the Street Style Salad, served with puffed rice, peanuts, spinach, avocado, tomato, Bengal gram, roasted chickpeas, savouries, mint, and tamarind chutney.

As for the Pao burger, it comes with the fritters of the day, pickled beetroot, lettuce, served on a soft bun with tamarind chutney and cashew mint chutney.

Flyover Fritterie Food

On the drinks front, vegan chai is served two ways: hot and cold. The cold option is iced ginger masala chai, while the hot option is a small batched chai of the day. Both options are brewed with soy milk.

Fashioned on the lively street food stalls that animate the underpasses of Delhi, Flyover Fritterie promises to provide the ultimate Fritter and Chai pairing.
