After the success of their Bondi outpost, the Totti’s team is expanding with a new venue in the heart of the city.
Since launching in 2018, Totti’s has become a beloved favourite among Bondi locals. Taking up residence in the renovated Bondi hotel, The Royal, this casual Mediterranean-style kitchen has won well-deserved attention for its pasta, woodfired bread and classic Italian cocktails. In big news this week, Merivale has just announced the opening of Bar Totti’s in Sydney’s iconic ivy precinct on Wednesday, January 15th.
Bar Totti’s sees Chefs Mike Eggert and Jake Ahrens (Ash St. Cellar, Uccello) lead the kitchen, bringing a taste of Totti’s simple, delicious cooking to the heart of the city. Similar the original Bondi location, this latest menu centres around Totti’s famed wood-fired bread. But that’s not all you’ll find at this CBD bar, with a selection of house-made antipasti and snacks to complete this new offering. The space itself is split into two, the first with an expansive horseshoe bar with high-top tables and DJs (Wednesday to Sunday nights), while the second opens onto George Street, boasting large windows and plenty of natural light.
With over twenty antipasti menu items to choose from, Bar Totti’s is set to be a spot to linger. Expect sardines, anchovies, octopus, prosciutto, burrata, marinated peppers and more alongside a stellar snack selection including grilled ‘alla griglia’ (similar to king prawns), grilled garfish lemon and bay leaf, chicken wings and much more. And for diners with a sweet tooth, expect Bondi’s signature desserts to return at Bar Totti’s including the much-loved tiramisu and Neopolitan ice-cream sandwich.
A bar wouldn’t be complete without drinks, and Bar Totti’s is set to impress. Expect simple, retro Italian-infused classics alongside a selection of seasonal drinks. Here, the focus has shifted to spritzes and after-dinner cocktails, with a small range of easy-drinking drops and low-intervention Italian wines.
Bar Totti’s opens tomorrow (January 15th) at the ivy, walk-in only and open from 12pm to late every day. With no set lunch or dinner times, swing by whenever you’re in the neighbourhood and make yourself at home. To find out more, click here.
