Bars of Bondi unite to celebrate all things gin with a series of delectable festivities to pay homage to everyone’s favourite spirit.
Love all things gin? You’re not alone. So popular is this refreshing spirit that some of Bondi’s most popular bars are coming together to bring a gin-filled ten-day experience featuring live music, sensory experiences, and gin cocktails a-plenty to the people of the Eastern Suburbs.
The brainchild of the first and only distillery in Bondi – Bondi Liquor Co – Bondi Festival of Gin has a carefully curated range of events and experiences to keep Bondi locals’ taste buds a-tingling. Founded thanks to a passion for the liquor industry, three friends – Ben, Adrian and Will – merged years of experience in hospitality, distribution, and alcohol production to form Bondi Liquor Co, the first operating distillery in Bondi, and now, the neighbourhood’s first gin festival.
With an event to suit every palate and appetite, the festival kicks off with a launch night on Thursday 14th April, a pop up Gin Garden at Beach Road Bondi on Sunday 17th April, and a new product launch with Morning Bondi on Friday 22nd April. There is also a Gin Trail with 10 participating venues around Bondi, and revellers will even go into the draw to win a year’s worth of gin. You’ll also find everything from a gin blending masterclass that includes a tour of Bondi Gin Co.’s distillery, along with a detailed explanation of the history of gin and the gin-making process, to a sumptuous gin degustation at Bondi institution The Corner House on the line-up. Taking place on Wednesday, 20th April, The Corner House’s gin extravaganza features a mouth-watering menu of scallops, salmon and Eton mess, and matching gin cocktails for each course.
With events spanning a ten-day period, and firm favourites including Rosenbaum & Fuller, The Corner House, Bikini Bar, Bondi Hardware, Rocker, Neighbourhood and Curly Lewis Brewing all taking part, anyone with a penchant for gin will have their thirst quenched this April, thanks to the impressive line-up of gin-themed events.
