Beat the winter blues with a free 4-day festival, ice skating, movies and workshops

Get ready to embrace winter at Darling Harbour’s annual WINTERFEST, a celebration of all things cold and fun! Running for 3 weeks, Darling Harbour will transform into a winter wonderland with a jam-packed itinerary of activities. The line-up includes a free 4-day festival in the ‘Winter Park’, film screenings under the stars and fireworks displays across the harbour. Plus, book live shows and experiences at ICC Sydney Theatre or plan a full day at the surrounding Sea Life Aquarium or Chinese Garden Of Friendship!

WINTERFEST’s free 4-day festival, Winter Park, promises a whirlwind of fun and adventure. Challenge each other in the heart-pounding gaming zones and relive childhood classics like Mario Kart, Minecraft and Just Dance. Over at the Winter Slime Workshop, kids can unleash their inner Picasso and create their very own gooey slime masterpieces to take home. In the evenings, cosy up for a movie screening. With Winter Adventure Films being the theme, expect to see the best of extreme winter sports, from ski jumps to snowboarding runs. To cap off the night, Winter Park comes alive with Winter Park Beats, with electrifying tunes from DJs to keep you warm long after the sun sets.

The festival continues at Darling Harbour’s Palm Grove Forecourt with the WINTERFEST Ice Rink. Open daily throughout the 3 weeks, you can skate to your heart’s content with the stunning Cockle Bay as your backdrop. The open-air ice rink offers the perfect winter escape, whether you’re a seasoned skater or taking your first steps on the ice. 

And of course, no Darling Harbour day out is complete without some breathtaking fireworks! The Winter Skies Fireworks is scheduled every evening at 8:30 pm, promising a dazzling display of colour and light.

Darling Harbour’s WINTERFEST is happening from Saturday 6 July until Sunday 21 July. The free Winter Park festival is from Thursday 18 July to Sunday 21 July. For more information, visit their website here.
