Dive into eight flavours of sauce-doused chicken wings at this new American-inspired sports bar.
It’s a pub classic with good reason. Sharing a bucket of chicken wings and a jug of beer with your crew is the perfect recipe for a great night out. For those looking for a new watering hole to get your chicken wing fix, this new sports bar is set to be just up your alley. The crew from The Bavarian are about to launch the first Sydney outpost of WingHAÜS by Bavarian, featuring eight variations of sauce-covered, American-inspired chicken wings, snacks and so much more.
WingHAÜS Sydney is set to open in late January 2020, taking over the space previously occupied by the Burger Project in Circular Quay’s Gateway dining precinct. It’s a dining concept that’s already won over Aussies, with the first WingHAÜS venue launched in September 2019 in Brisbane. For punters, expect a boisterous sports-bar vibe with over 20 large-screen TVs, 40 draught beers and margaritas on tap plus enough space to accommodate 145 guests.
As expected, chicken wings are what this spot is set to do best. Taking inspiration from America’s cult-stat chicken wings as well as The Bavarian’s famous buffalo wings, diners can pick and choose how they want their wings served. From classic buffalo wings to fried wings and even boneless chicken tenders, grab a serve of 10 to 100 pieces with a choice of eight accompanying sauces. Keep things mild with teriyaki or heat things up with their ‘Face Melting’ extra hot sauce option. And that’s not where the options end, with a selection of five dipping sauces available including blue cheese, ranch and the venue’s signature haüs sauce.
To accompany your chicken wing feast, make sure to try WingHAÜS’ range of snacks and sides including buffalo ranch chips, onion rings, coleslaw and even deep-fried pickles. Not in the mood for wings? Grab a loaded ChookHaüs burger with secret-spiced chicken breast, habanero hot sauce, Texas BBQ sauce, cheese, coleslaw and pickles. There’s also set to be limited-edition menu of items inspired by Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, including a stick JD’s sauce and a JD’s Chookhaüs Burger.
As for drinks, expect a stellar line-up of kegs at this venue with German stalwarts Löwenbräu, Paulaner, Franziskaner, Spaten and Hofbräu pouring alongside American bellwethers Budweiser, Stella Artois and Goose Island, prized Belgian brews by Hoegaarden, and local heroes 4 Pines and Pirate Life. Cocktail lovers won’t be dissappointed with a selection of options on tap including margaritas, old fashioneds, Aperol spritzes, negronis and espresso martinis.
