Casa Mia Osteria, Newtown

Newtown has just scored a new Italian restaurant on King Street. The restaurant is run by duo Andrea Nazzari and Valerio Boncompagni who have worked at Michelin star restaurants in their hometowns of Rime and Milan. On the menu, you’ll find traditional Roman dishes from antipasti, handmade fettuccine with lamb ragu and black olives, pizzas and a collection of Italian and Australian wines. Messina drive-through, Bella Vista

All your prayers have been answered with Messina’s drive-through option. Throughout August, you’ll be able to order takeaway and pick it up without leaving your car thanks to a special collaboration with Bella Vista Hotel. From half-litre tubs of gelato, bake-at-home cookie pies and the Golden Gaytime flavoured Viennetta, all your sweet tooths will be at bay. Visit the pop up at Bella Vista Hotel between Thursday to Saturday from noon until 9pm and on Sundays from noon until 4pm.

Lode Pies, Surry Hills

Lumi Dining’s Federico Zanellato is opening a pie and pastry store on Crown Street. Rich Parisian-inspired desserts are what you can expect from his new venture. You can expect contemporary and mid-century styled decor, with Little Marionette coffee and puff pastry products ruleing the menu. Find out more here

Neil Perry has just opened his brand new restaurant in Double Bay. The local eatery is nothing short of luxe and has been a $5 million addition to the suburb. With Perry in the kitchen, you can expect the food to push boundaries and highlight Australian produce. The menu will feature steaks, duck breast, rock lobster and freshly landed swordfish. Lit Canteen DIY Banh Mi Box, Alexandria

Inner-city Vietnamese eatery is bringing something new to your tables. You can now order Banh Mi to your doors ready to be constructed at home. The idea is that these boxes can be gifted to your loved ones as a kind of care package. My Mother’s Cousin, Bexley North

Sydney scored a new pizza joint inspired by New York pizza culture – think Joey from Friends. You’ll find a classic Pepperoni on the menu, as well as deli cuts and fried chicken.
