Since sitting in your local pub, drinking a beer and answering trivia questions with your friends has been put on hold, Annie Fitzpatrick has put together a foodie trivia series to help raise funds for OzHarvest. With so many Australians experiencing food insecurities during COVID-19, Annie thought it was time to invite the community to raise funds over some friendly competition.
Every Monday night in October for just a $10 donation, you will be able to rally friends and family over some foodie trivia. The questions will focus on food and beverage, but also dip into history, science, travel, art and general knowledge to keep everyone entertained. Foodie experts will join the quiz each week to share useful knowledge and ask a few questions on the topic.
Who can you expect? On the 4th of October, Ian “Herbie” Hemphill from Herbies will discuss the topic of Australian Native Spices. On the 11th of October, Penny Lawson from Pennys Cheese Shop will discuss the topic of Raw Milk Cheese. On the 18th of October, Anneka Manning from Bake Club will discuss the topic of How to Spot a Good Recipe and Avoid ‘Bake Fail’. And on the 25th of October, Maeve O’Meara from Gourmet Safaris will discuss the topic of Cooking With Fire.
Quiz Mistress Annie Fitzpatrick has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry. With her own food and wine marketing consultancy and her experience working with artisan producers, food travel companies and cookbook/magazine publishers, she’s sure to test your culinary knowledge and teach you a thing or two.
The trivia is hosted via Zoom which means it’s accessible for all. Invite your friends from around Sydney, maybe even a relative from across the state and compete to be labeled the lockdown trivia king or queen (or at least the self-proclaimed).
