Sydney’s Most Instagrammable Cafés

Cafes, Eat, Food Guide, Guide, Sydney / 30 August 2022

There are numerous delicious cafes around Sydney but when you are looking to take your next trending Instagram post, some places offer more than others…

We are blessed to live in a city with many delicious cafe options taking us from breakfast to lunch. But when you’re collating a quality Insta feed you want the best of the best in terms of attractive plates of food. We’ve put together a list of Sydney’s most Instagrammable cafés, for all your #foodie needs.

Speedos Café, Bondi

Voted the world’s most Instagrammable café by Big Seven Travel, Speedos is the ideal beachside destination for a summer foodie shot. Every plate is like a rainbow with beautiful fresh produce and pops of colour from flowers and tasty sauces. We love the creativity in their menu and the care they take in plating their food. Plus, the seaside setting provides plenty of natural light.

The Botanica Vaucluse

This lush garden oasis is situated in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, close to the beach. The Botanica Vaucluse concept revolves around local growers which means all the produce is sustainably sourced, making for plenty of flavourful and nourishing food. While the food here is plated to perfection, we think that the café itself with its high ceilings and hanging plants is what sets the venue apart as an Instagrammer’s dream. Expect long, sweeping tables and pretty pink decor with delicate touches of green.

Bills, various locations

This chain has been around since 1993 when Bills Granger’s opened the first restaurant in Darlinghurst. Now you can catch the delicious Bills offering in Double Bay, Surry Hills and Bondi Beach. It’s the food that really stands out for us – beautifully plated, rich in colour and brought to the table with pretty side dishes and drinks.

Gram Cafe & Pancakes, various locations

Sky-high decadent pancakes, cute, dainty plating and an even cuter setting – Gram Cafe & Pancakes is the ideal place for an adorable selfie or an enviable #eats addition to your feed. Gram opened its first Australian venue in Chatswood in 2020 and has since grown a cult following by Sydneysiders. They opened a new central location within The Galeries Shopping Centre late last year, bringing soft, delicate, pancake-y goodness to the city.

The Mayflower, various locations

This gorgeous café-come-restaurant is known for its amazing food and pretty settings. The venues are the product of collaborations with a number of Australian artists, designers and florists. Expect bold art-deco paintings, opulent French floristry and touches of pink marble. The Mayflower is the perfect spot for a classy, artsy selfie or story, but its food is the main star.

The Grounds, various locations

The Grounds offers a range of exquisite dining and coffee options from tasty lunches to exclusive high teas. We particularly love the Alexandria café complete with fabulous immersive decor and gourmet café fare. The Grounds of Alexandria offers multiple backdrops to dine within the venue, as well as florist shops, cake stall stands and even a farm which is perfect for the gram. You can get no bad shot at this iconic venue.

Concrete Jungle Café, Chippendale

This Chippendale cafe is focused on living the green way of life from the venue fit-out to the food served on the tables. Concrete Jungle Café is packed full of gorgeous greenery with overhanging plants and pretty ferns nestled over and amongst the tables. They serve a fresh menu of colour and nutrient-rich food to match, perfect for a natural Instagram vibe.

Skittle Lane, various locations.

This elegant café, roastery and lifestyle store is a minimalist’s dream with three venues in Sydney’s CBD, Bondi and Manly. Named after the alleyway that runs beside their flagship venue in the CBD, Skittle Lane has branched out into a range of coffee-focused initiatives, from in-house coffee roasting to a curated collection of brew gear and homewares. Visit any one of their cafés for a specialty brew and countless classy, peaceful photo-ops.
