Italian’s certainly don’t do things by halves, and so naturally when an Italian festival pops up, it’s not a small celebration but rather a lavish week-long affair. From 20th-26th November, Sydney Italian Festival invites all you passionate Italian foodies to a series of dynamic events across Sydney. It comes in celebration of World Week of Italian Cuisine, a global initiative hosted by the Italian Government which promotes food and wine Made in Italy.

Monday 20th November
Italy on a Spoon: Official Launch Party
Kicking things off with a bang is the Italy on a Spoon Cocktail Party. Hosted at beautiful Doltone House at Darling Island Wharf, guests will enjoy a selection of Italian dishes teamed with fine Italian wines. The best part? Tuesday 21st November
Italian Gorgonzola Cheese Sampling at Romeo’s Foodhall Martin Place
Calling all CBD workers! We strongly recommend ducking out of the office for a ‘quick break’ and heading to Romeo’s Food Hall. From 10:30am to 3:30pm, they’ll be hosting tastings of delectable gorgonzola cheese. We assure you that this will be better than any stodgy sandwich for lunch.
Seafood with an Italian touch at Balla, The Star

Wednesday 22nd November
Aperitivo at Pilu Baretto, Freshwater
Pilu’s younger, more casual sister eatery Pilu Baretto will be hosting a series of fun Aperitivo events. From 5:00pm to 6:30pm, experience true Italian Aperitivo culture with a spritz accompanied with snacks whilst overlooking the spectacular Freshwater Beach for $30pp.
Thursday 23rd November
Dine in Sicily and the Aeolian Islands at Buon Ricordo, Paddington
Paddington institution, Buon Ricodo, will be serving up some of Sicily’s and the Aeolian islands culinary traditions. The menu will include five courses and six matching wines for $195 pp. Bookings are recommended.
Friday 24th November
Seafood Degustation Dinner at Mercato E Cucina
To celebrate all things Italian, indulge in a Chef’s selection of seafood at Mercato E Cucina. This special degustation menu includes 5 courses and matching wines for $95 pp.
Saturday 25th November
Gourmet Pizza & Beer Nights at Al Taglio, Surry Hills
During the Festival, Surry Hills pizzeria Al Taglio will be serving up some of its most popular pizzas with a beer for $25pp.
Sunday 26th November
A Day with our Chefs, Sale E Pepe, Brookvale
Enjoy a 4 hour cooking class with Sale E Pepe’s chefs and get the opportunity to learn recipes of two traditional and popular Italian dishes. The experience will include a 2 hour interactive class dedicated to learning how to make delicious home-made potato Gnocchi. The session also includes a class in how to craft authentic wood fired pizza from scratch. $95pp, bookings essential.
