13 Bars, 26 Cocktails, One Weekend. Sydney Cocktail Festival returns to the iconic Opera Bar.

There’s no doubt we’re pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to world-class watering holes in Sydney. There simply aren’t enough hours in a day to make a stop at all our favourites. Enter, Sydney Cocktail Festival. 

Over two days, backdropped to the iconic Sydney Harbour, Opera Bar will become the confluence of Sydney’s 13 most innovative cocktail bars. The roster includes the likes of Re, Maybe Sammy (both named in the World’s Best Bars 2021) , PS40, and Double Deuce Lounge. All are set to shake and stir 26 different cocktails recipes over two days, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April.

Each day of the festival features seven different bars and their star bartenders serving up a signature drink as well as an exclusive creation available just for the weekend. Think fluoro 80s thoughts with PS40’s ‘Miami Vice’ – part watermelon cooler, part pina colada. Take a trip back to childhood with Rosenbaum & Fuller’s ‘Zappo’ (Bombay Sapphire, blackcurrant liqueur, grape soda, verjus, and lemon). Re’s exclusive festival creation is ‘Mjango Unchained’ with Bacardi white rum, mango, myrtle and sumac syrup, and lime. 

Cocktails aren’t the only thing mixing, the whole weekend will be soundtracked to a series of DJs and live performances. Bacardi-Martini will also host a cocktail tasting experience alongside a sneak peek masterclass of recently launched products. We have it on good authority a few surprises have been thrown in for good measure. Cocktails in ice-cream form? Yes please!
