What better way to cap off your weekend than with a hearty Sunday roast? Here are the best spots in Sydney for the classic roast, a much-loved meal of succulent meats, roast veggies, and all the trimmings to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy this winter.
The Waratah, Darlinghurst
The Waratah, Darlinghurst’s adored pub, got a refresh last year including a new Aussie-inspired menu and luxe fit-out. Now, they’re bringing us an unmissable Sunday Roast with high-quality produce, fine dining-esque, but still those hearty flavours we all know and love. For $35 enjoy a perfectly succulent, crispy-skinned slice of porchetta from Whole Beast Butchery. This is served alongside hassle back potatoes and vegetable sides that rotate to showcase the best seasonal produce. Offer available every Sunday from 12pm – but get in quick!
Cardea, Barangaroo
A Sunday Roast and Jazz – name a better combo, we’ll wait! From 5.30pm every Sunday, Barangaroo’s Cardea is serving a traditional Sunday roast alongside smooth live Jazz in their lavish, dimly-lit dining room. Not-your-average weekly roast – Cardea offers four meat options and one vegetarian option, with all the loveable trimmings, Yorkshire puddings and hearty desserts, including a succulent tiramisu. Choose from roast pork, beef cheek, chicken breast, a drool-worthy lamb shoulder for two (pictured above) and roast eggplant parma. Find out more here.
Promenade, Bondi Beach
A Roast by the Coast? Yes, please! Bondi’s much-loved Promenade is serving two different Sunday roast lunches this winter. Choose from Wagyu beef rump with onion gravy and roast baby barramundi with lemon butter. Both options come with a Yorkshire pudding and your pick of three sides including rosemary and garlic roasted potato, honey-glazed carrots, smoked pumpkin, creamed leeks, swede mash, and broccolini. Add a portion of pigs in blankets for $9 and another Yorkshire pudd for $2 (because one isn’t enough!). Plus, on Sundays, they’re serving Guinness, Bloody Marys, and hot butter bourbons for $15 a piece! Available every Sunday lunch in the restaurant from 11 am – 3 pm, until Saturday the 25th of August. Bistro Moncur, Woollahra Hotel
Craving a classic Sunday roast with some French flair? Look no further than Bistro Moncur in Woollahra! Every Sunday throughout winter, they’re serving a special Sunday Rosbif lunch. For $45, you’ll be presented with a tender roasted chateaubriand – the king cut of the tenderloin, accompanied by all the trimmings: fondant potato, braised red cabbage, Vichy carrots, and a zingy horseradish jus. Dove & Olive, Surry Hills
A full roast for $29.90 you say? Dove & Olive offers their patrons some serious bang for their buck with their Weekend Roast Dinner. Every weekend, from 11 am, take your pick from lamb, beef, or veggie roast. Team it with a beer from their 26 rotating taps and you’re in for the perfect close to the week. Find out more here.

Balmain’s favourite local East Village knows how to put on a stellar Sunday roast. Swing by for a nourishing roast with all the trimmings from $30, choose from beef sirliom, pork belly, leg of lamb, or half chicken. Rocker, Bondi
The Rocker team have re-launched their much-loved Sunday roast menu, leaning completely on their English roots. Chef, Stuart Toon, has developed a delicious produce-driven offering, featuring a range of starters and hearty mains. Start with Sonoma Mission sourdough with salted butter, local burrata with sweet pumpkin jam, white bean hummus with grilled za’atar flatbread, and more. The main event includes roast wagyu beef rump, free-range crispy pork belly, and maple-spiced pumpkin (for the veggies!). Each is accompanied by their famous roast potatoes, honey-roasted carrots, proper gravy, broccolini, mustard, and Yorkshire pudding. Their menu features a daily roast with rotating meats, but their Sunday roast lets you choose from British-bred roast beef sirloin, roast porchetta, roast lamb, or roast pumpkin.
