What better way to cap off your weekend than with a hearty Sunday roast? Here are the best spots in Sydney for the classic roast, a much-loved meal of succulent meats, roast veggies, and all the trimmings to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy this winter.

Gin Lane, Chippendale

Tiny in size but big on flavour, Gin Lane in Chippendale has teamed up with two-hatted chef Nelly Robinson to deliver a seriously impressive Sunday roast. Available from 2pm to 6pm every Sunday, this elevated take on the British classic features a 16-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder infused with rosemary and fresh mint, served with glazed carrots and greens, crispy roast potatoes, a golden Yorkshire pudding and lashings of minty gravy for $38. Plant-based diners are equally well catered for with a hearty nut roast, complete with all the same trimmings, for $36. To round out the experience, pair your roast with one of Gin Lane’s clever martinis, like the Roasted Minted Lamb Washed Martinez or a Wagyu and Hot English Mustard Washed Mary.

The Lord Roberts

Freshly refurbished and better than ever, The Lord Roberts in Darlinghurst has quietly become one of the inner city’s most reliable Sunday roast destinations. At just $26, their weekly rotating roast is one of the best value feeds in Sydney, served with seasonal roast vegetables, peas, a fluffy Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy. Steak with theatrics at Barangaroo's Cardea

A Sunday Roast and Jazz – name a better combo, we’ll wait! From 5.30pm every Sunday, Barangaroo’s Cardea is serving a traditional Sunday roast alongside smooth live Jazz in their lavish, dimly-lit dining room. Not-your-average weekly roast – Cardea offers four meat options and one vegetarian option, with all the loveable trimmings, Yorkshire puddings and hearty desserts, including a succulent tiramisu. As the temperature drops, there’s nothing quite like settling in for a long, indulgent roast, and Three Blue Ducks Rosebery is delivering exactly that. Their newly relaunched Sunday Roast is now an all-day affair, running from 11:30am to 4pm, with a menu that leans into nostalgic British comfort, reimagined through the Ducks’ signature produce-led approach. Expect perfectly cooked roast beef, crispy pork belly, or a generous share-style lamb shoulder, all served with golden potatoes, seasonal veg, Yorkshire pudding and a rich, slow-made gravy that ties it all together. Add in hearty sides like cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets, plus classic desserts like sticky toffee pudding, and you’ve got a Sunday well spent.

Folly’s Bar & Bistro

North of the bridge and well worth the detour, Folly’s Bar & Bistro in Cammeray is plating up one of Sydney’s most satisfying Sunday roasts. From 12pm until sold out, tuck into a rotating selection of roasted lamb, porchetta, or melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked beef brisket. Bistro Moncur at the Woollahra Hotel has welcomed back its beloved Sunday roast, served every Sunday from 12pm until sold out. Priced at $45 per person, the seasonal offering features two rotating roasts each week, showcasing premium Australian produce including beef chateaubriand from Victoria, Borrowdale pork belly from Queensland, Lachlan Valley lamb from New South Wales and Arcadia chicken from New South Wales. Each roast is served with classic accompaniments such as duck fat potatoes, seasonal purée, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Diners can also elevate the experience with indulgent add-ons including a cauliflower and broccoli gratin, before finishing with sticky toffee pudding topped with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce.
