A Festival Dedicated to Rum is Landing in Sydney

Drink, Events, Sydney / 4 April 2018

Get tropical this weekend at Sugarcane Sunday with an all-things-rum festival.

Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean the tropical vibes have stopped flowing. It’s time to get on island time, as Sugarcane Sunday present a festival of all things rum. Kicking off on Sunday 8th April at Customs House Bar in Macquarie Place, this is the ideal afternoon for lovers of the Caribbean lifestyle.
At this pop up rum market, lovers of this prized spirit can expect everything from tiki cocktails to a stream of rum tastings. The guys from Lost Luau will be running the tiki cocktail bar to try any of your favourites. Think everything from a delicious Daiquiri to Mai Tai and crowd pleasing Pina Colada. Not only can you sip on these delicious beverages, but you’ll also get the chance to talk to the people making and importing these rums in Australia.
In between sips of your Daiquiri, be sure to nab a tiki mug or Hawaiian shirt, both will be available for sale on the day. There to keep your toes tapping will also be plenty of reggae beats.
For those looking to expand their knowledge on this prized spirit, there will also be rum presentations running every hour. You can meet the maker at Husk Distillers, plus learn the tales of Trinidad with Angostura.
Tickets are $40 + bf and are available by clicking here. With only limited spaces available, you’ll want to get in quick to avoid disappointment.

This is a festival to demonstrate the fun of the island lifestyle and the culture of rum. Dust off your finest florals and Hawaiian shirts and have some laughs over some tiki cocktails and tropical tunes.
