Saporium offers a curated culinary experience
Saporium is the newest edition to Sydney’s growing landscape of food marketplaces. Located in the progressive inner city suburb of Rosebery, this is certainly one of your trendier eating and design hubs.
Inspiration for the name Saporium came from two unique terms: sapour, meaning flavour and emporium, meaning trading place or market. The title clearly plays into the business model of the immersive experience designed to stimulate the senses. Under the roof of this 4,500 square metre warehouse are over twelve food providores and artisans. Opening in their doors in three separate stages, the public will soon have complete access to all their grocery shopping needs.
Providores which are already open include as Grain Organic Bakery, who specialise in hand crafted organic sourdough breads and pastries. Zeus Street Greek, 5th Earl and the Choc Pot also opened in late May.
June is set to be huge, with Wholefoods House, an organic and wholefood supermarket, finally opening its doors to the public. Shoppers will also soon have access to Kingsmore Meats and Welcome Dose Speciality Coffee Roasters. And there will be a cooking school! Located in the heart of Saporium, Vive Cooking School will allow people young and old to sharpen their skills in the kitchen.
And there’s so much more to come. Saporium will be announcing a third stage of grand openings this September!
Significant to the Saporium ethos is also the notion of community. Challenging the structure of many supermarket giants, their facilities offer an open conversation between both producers and shoppers. It is a basic concept that certainly goes a long way. Lovers of all things food are able to share a mutual passion and love for high quality produce. All under the one roof.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as you’ll definitely want to be a part of this exciting culinary world.
