Ori’s Bar is channeling Italian piazza vibes, with a laid-back attitude.
Rock up, drink up and see where the night takes you at the all-new offering from Chef Orazio in Bondi. Ori’s Bar is providing locals with a no-pressure spot to choose what they want depending on the day they are having – a quick drink and a snack before dinner, a late-night nightcap or a slow and satiating graze of the entire Da Orazio menu all soundtracked to a retro jukebox of 80’s disco hits.
“I love the piazzas in Italy, they are my favourite, a relaxed, no attitude space where you can stay and unwind with family and friends, I am happy to bring my interpretation of this to Bondi,” says Orazio.
The 30-seat, table-service bar, has a drinks list that showcases classic cocktails including: barrel-aged Negroni; Manhattan; Aviation; and the Orazio, a drink made especially for owner Orazio D’Elia – combining the Vodka, sweetness of watermelon, citrus of handmade Limoncello, freshness of mint and cucumber. This cocktail captures memories of Orazio traveling with his Nonno in Italy to buy watermelon for his fruit shop.
Next door, Da Orazio have designed an all-new ‘Stuzzichino’ snacks section on the menu, to accommodate the light-night grazers who’re looking for a light snack with their cocktail. The new additions include an oh-so-snackable Prosciutto De Parma & Reggiano Crocchette with Aioli; plus bitesize Bruschetta Pugliese topped with Octopus & Stracciatella to name a few. If every delicious morsel has you craving more, guests can opt to work their way through the full Da Orazio menu from the comfort of Ori’s Bar.
The space is casual and chic with pops of colour, reminiscent of basking in the glow of an endless Italian summer. Deli-style fridges display the finest salami and prosciutto, and a striking $1 jukebox awaits front and centre, ready to soundtrack an incredible evening of great food, great drinks and great company.
The new venue is exclusively available for walk-ins, which is a nice change of pace in a city built on reservations. That said, if you do prefer to guarantee yourself a spot for the night, you could always head down the road to check out Bondi Road’s newest addition, Mikey’s Pizza.
