Dig into FREE happy hour karaage and sip Japanese highballs on tatami mats at the newly-launched Nakano Darling.
Sydney’s love affair with all things Japanese is only set to continue in 2020, as this latest opening firmly proves. From upscale layered dining concepts such as Kuro in the CBD to Surry Hills’ bustling new Japanese bar and eatery TOKKI, there’s plenty of spots to nab a delicious Tokyo-inspired feast. But for those craving an authentic dining destination filled with traditional, house-made dishes, get ready to fall in love with Nakano Dining.
This self-proclaimed ‘izakaya for all’ delivers a homely Japanese restaurant meets bar in the heart of the thriving new Darling Square precinct. Nakano Dining is the third Japanese venture for owners of the highly successful Yakitori Yurippi and TachinomiYP in Crows Nest. For the team, they’ve honed in on the traditional Japanese izakaya formula of specialising in just a couple of menu items to ensure diners experience top-notch dishes every time. For Sydneysiders, expect handmade karaage fried chicken and gyoza dumplings to be the star of the show, along with a string of delicious menu items to snack and savour.
After months of construction, Nakano Darling has emerged with a series of unique dining spaces curated to suit every kind of evening. Nab a seat at the bar to eat and drink your way through the evening or head back to the venue’s tatami room and sit on the floor with your crew and enjoy endless serves of fried chicken and beer. At Nakano, expect everything from plates of pork dumplings to cold sides such as edamame, lotus root chips and coleslaw as well as hot dishes such as corn butter cheese, vegetarian fried udon and even octopus karaage. Plus, expect the drinks to be flowing with Suntory whisky highball cocktails, beer and so much more.
Psst… want to score free Karaage? You’ve come to the right place. Swing by Nakano Darling before 6pm from Monday to Friday and you’ll receive free fried chicken with every tap beer order.
