Bondi’s newest seaside hangout spot
Looking for a new spot near the beach? Lulus is the newest kid on the block, offering a delicious Asian dining experience in the heart of Bondi. It’s the latest venture by Restaurateur Harry Lambropoulos , extending his family of Bondi Beach eateries. Lulu now stands alongside its siblings Harrys, Raw Bar, and RND, and is the perfect spot for a drink and snack after a day on the beach, or for a casual date night.
Lulu has taken over the spot where the Italian restaurant A Tavola used to sit. Unlike Harrys, Raw Bar, and RND, which are all located together, Lulu has found its home in the bustling retail hub. Among its neighbours are other iconic eateries such as Fonda, and Messina, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the area.
The brief for the interior was adventurous, yet warm. The restaurant has a glow to it, with a blend of chairs and tools, square and round tables and mis-matched furnishings you often won’t see anywhere else. There’s also a spacious booth towards the back, striking the perfect balance of style without feeling overcrowded.
Drawing inspiration from the flavours and techniques of Pan-Asian cuisine, Lulu’s menu showcases a delicious selection of dishes that will transport you right to the streets of bustling Asian cities – Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore to name a few. It’s a foodie’s dream journey, taking you from Japanese delicacies like Hokkaido toast and tempura baby corn to Vietnamese delights like prawn banh mi. And if you’re in the mood for some Korean flavours, they’ve got you covered with eggplant accompanied by ssamjang dipping sauce and Doubanjiang Beef. Lulu also has a big focus on Raw Bar classics, including a salmon crispy prawn cracker with watermelon and chilli jam.
Lulu is now open from Wednesday – Sunday. For more information, visit their website here.
