Nope, it’s not an April fools prank (we checked). This April 1st, KFC will team up with Nelly Robinson, to bring an 11-course KFC Degustation to Sydney.
Sydney, prepare thy palates and dust off your best stretchy pants because KFC is turning boujee! We didn’t believe it either at first but we can confirm, in a world-first, KFC Australia is bringing a new 11-course KFC Degustation restaurant to Sydney. The pop-up will run from Friday 1 until Sunday 3 April, giving a whole new take on our favourite finger lickin’ fast food.
The menu has been developed in partnership with Chef Patron and owner of Sydney restaurant nel., Nelly Robinson. Known as Australia’s degustation king, Nelly has been working in Michelin star kitchens since the tender age of 14 before opening iconic Sydney restaurant nel. at 29.
“As a lifelong fan of KFC, creating an 11-course degustation with their most-loved menu items and elevating them to new heights has been a dream come true. For the menu, I’ve taken 11 KFC dishes and reimagined how the flavours and textures come to life using my expertise in degustation menus to truly blow fans away.” Nelly Robinson – KFC Degustation Menu Consultant and Chef Patron and owner of Sydney restaurant, nel.
New dishes, same finger lickin’ style
The drum in cheek menu is remaining loyal to it’s finger lickin’ roots with guests encouraged to get messy. There will be no white tablecloth dining etiquette here, so forget the silverware. Instead delve fingers first into a plate of La Di Da Drumsticks (aka Fried Gold) – an iconic Original Recipe drumstick dusted with quinoa and gold.
For mains, how about some Popcorn Chicken? But not as you know it. Served with celeriac soup, mushroom gnocchi and topped off with an edible floral garnish, a bargain bucket will never look the same again.
To nab a seat at this one-of-a-kind Degustation, all you have to do is explain which KFC dish you think is worthy of a la-di-da degustation…
