The crew from Four Pillars are giving their Healesville distillery a major renovation in 2021.
If you’re a fan of gin, you’ll likely be well-acquainted with Four Pillars. The team of passionate gin producers has earned the attention of the global spirits community. In 2019 (and 2020) Four Pillars took out the International Gin Producer of the Year award, and are renowned as Australia’s most pioneering gin label.
And now, the team is giving their distillery in the Yarra Valley a major renovation. Kicking off this week, Four Pillar’s Healesville distillery will undergo a huge $6 million redevelopment (slated to take close to 12 months to complete).
This exciting new project is going to located adjacent to their current Healesville distillery and is set to include new hospitality, production, bottling, and events space. The entire project is being spearheaded by Australia’s most awarded sustainable design firm, Breathe Architecture.
So, what can you expect at this new-look Four Pillars space? The project is repurposing a timber yard and will boost visitor capacity to over 200,000 visitors every year. The hospitality space will welcome 250 guests at a time, as well as a new German-designed Carl still (for distilling Four Pillars’ iconic gin), more off-street parking, plus new retail and even a special sensory surprise that will need to be experienced to be believed.
Plus, the design of this new space is putting sustainability front-and-centre, using solar energy and focusing on minimising waste to lower the distillery’s environmental footprint.
It’s an exciting move for the Four Pillars team, with this new site set to truly put their Healesville distillery on the global distillery destination map. Get ready Melbourne, this world-class facilities is only an hour’s drive from the CBD (opening at 2-6 Lilydale Road, Healesville). At this stage, the redevelopment is slated for completion in December 2021.
