Hunter Valley Gardens Is Hosting A Month Long Snow Festival This Winter

Play, Sydney / 4 July 2024

Complete with thrilling rides and a winter-themed garden.

Winter is officially here! With the cold slowly approaching and holidays just around the corner, Hunter Valley Gardens is bringing the snow to Sydneysiders without the hefty price tag of a ski trip to the mountains. Aptly named ‘Snow Time In The Garden’, the annual tradition promises a spectacular winter wonderland, transforming the garden into a snowy paradise, complete with frosty landscapes, playful snow activities, and a touch of winter magic.

Let your inner child run wild at The Mega Snow Play Zone, using ice machines to generate man-made snow: build towering snowmen, sculpt whimsical snow creatures, and even have a snowball fight or two. For those seeking a touch of adventure, take on the 45-meter Giant Ice Toboggan, soaring down its icy slopes for a heart-pumping adventure. More thrilling rides include the 25-metre Ferris Wheel and Swing Chairs, set high above the action so you can watch on below. If you’re looking for a more relaxed experience, the Ice Skating Rink is perfect for both beginners and seasoned skaters. Best of all? All this is included in the price of your entry ticket.

After a day of adventures, refuel and warm up with the hearty food options at Snow Time in the Garden. Indulge in the comforting flavours of Woodfired Pizza, freshly baked to perfection, Greek Souvlaki plate or a loaded burger with your favourite toppings for a classic Aussie winter treat. If you’re craving something sweet, choose from waffle sticks, filled candies, or a refreshing brain freeze with Snow Cones.

Beyond the rides, you can also explore Hunter Valley Gardens at your own pace and leisure. Stroll through the meticulously manicured gardens, where 10 stunning displays will come to life in fitting festive winter charm. Each garden offers a unique experience, from whimsical snow sculptures to ice displays.

Snow Time in the Garden kicks off on June 29th and runs until July 28th, with activities and experiences designed for all ages. Open every day from 9 am – 5 pm, with the last entry for Snow Time at 3 pm. General Garden entry is permitted until 4 pm. For more information, visit their website here.
