This Beer Run lets you sip your way through Sydney’s best breweries

Drink, Events, Sydney / 22 May 2019

5km run, 5 breweries, 5 beers. The Beer Run is back just in time for Oktoberfest.

While drinking beer isn’t typically synonymous with healthy living (up for debate), here lies your opportunity to have your beer and drink it too, with the return of Sydney’s very own Beer Run. Combining exercise with beers, the 5km run includes five pit stops at some of Sydney’s top breweries.

The Sydney leg kicks off on Sunday 6th October, tying in nicely with many beer lovers favourite event, Oktoberfest. Runners are encouraged to don their dirndls or lederhosen and get ready for an afternoon of casual running and plenty of beer drinking.

Tickets are $55 + BF and includes a beer in each brewery, a Beer Run bib and a novelty medal with your ticket, allowing for plenty of bragging rights.

While the Sydney breweries are yet to be announced, you can expect some big names with the event kicking off in brewery paradise, Marrickville.

The run itself is set to last around 2-3 hours, giving you plenty of time to relax over a few cold ones at each brewery before your running leader guides you to the next pit stop. Alternatively you can take things even slower and complete the course at your own pace. With your 5km run done and dusted for the day, get ready for an after party at your final pit spot.

Those living outside of Sydney can also get in on the action, the Melbourne leg of the Beer Run kicking off October 13th, while the Brisbane and Perth events are running October 20th and October 27th respectively.

Be warned, tickets did sell out prior to the event last year so you’ll want to secure yours quick.
