Burger Lovers, Listen Up! 20 Wahlburgers Restaurants Are Landing In Oz and NZ

Cool Sh*t, Eat / 11 January 2021

The US burger chain Wahlburger is landing in Oz with locations coming to Sydney, Melbourne, and beyond.

This isn’t the first cult burger chain to make its way from the US to Australia. Last year, we covered the news that iconic burger shack Carl’s Jr is set to open its first Australian store in Sydney later this year. And now, another famous burger joint is coming to Australia (and New Zealand).

The restaurant chain in question is Wahlburgers, the joint owned by actor Matt Walhberg and his brother (with 52 stores already scattered across the US, Canada, and Germany). You might also be familiar with the restaurant from the TV series of the same name, Wahlburgers.

While details are scarce about exactly when and where the first Australians Wahlburger restaurants will be opening, here’s what we know so far. The first location will be opening in the Sydney CBD, with locations also landing in Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane. In total, there will be 20 stores spread across Australia and NZ in the coming months and years.

The venue has been launched in collaboration with United Cinemas, with a number of Walhburger’s restaurants set to open inside these picture palaces (with stand-alone stores also on the cards as well).

To give you a hint at where we might find these new burger shacks, United Cinemas have venues across the country at spots such as Narellan, Collaroy, Warriewood, Avalon, Katoomba, and Opera Quays in the Sydney CBD.

On the menu, expect to find Walhburger’s iconic burgers, shakes, beers, and ‘wahlbowls’ (which feature all of the delicious burger ingredients, minus the bun).

Wahlburgers is slated to open in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and New Zealand soon. To stay up-to-date with the latest news, check out the burger chain’s Facebook Page.
