Get ready for the FREE virtual edition of the Parklands Food Festival, taking place on September 5th.

It’s not often you get to attend a live culinary masterclass with one of Sydney’s best chefs for free. But this spring, that’s exactly what is on the itinerary for the first digital edition of the Parklands Food Festival. Taking place on Saturday, September 5th, the virtual festival invites Sydney foodies to tune in and cook along with renowned chef Matt Moran for an epic virtual culinary experience not to be missed.

Parklands Food Fest has been a beloved annual event, hosted at Australias largest urban park, Western Sydney Parklands. With over 27km of urban parkland and 12 urban farms on-site, this site is an oasis for fresh, seasonal fruit, vegetables and flowers, with the public regularly invited to shop directly from the farm-gate stalls and fresh produce markets.

But in 2020, the annual Parklands Food Festival is going digital with a jam-packed day of live-streamed entertainment. Hosted on Facebook Live, this FREE virtual event is headlined by celebrity chef Matt Moran who will be running two workshop sessions at 11am and 1pm on Saturday, September 5th.

This unmissable event gives foodies the chance to cook along with Matt from the comfort of their home. Live streaming from the Parklands Food Fest’s virtual kitchen, Matt will guide attendees through his favourite dishes that celebrate his ‘paddock to plate’ cooking philosophy. Expect to whip up his signature including ‘barramasalata’ and roasted cauliflower with anchovy burnt butter, using fresh produce straight from Western Sydney Parklands’ urban farms.

Plus, the virtual event will also shine a light on food waste as OzHarvest’s Travis Harvey makes a special guest appearance to show how creativity in the kitchen with food scraps can reduce overall household food waste. Want to give back? Attendees are encouraged to make a donation to OzHarvest during the day to support food relief across Australia.
