Dine inside a heritage-listed police station this Valentine’s Day at Sergeant Lok and enjoy a delectable modern Chinese menu.
If you’re on the hunt for a unique dining destination to try this Valentine’s Day, you’ve come to the right place. Nestled in the heart of The Rocks you’ll find Sergeant Lok. Be sure to look beneath the surface, because this restaurant offers more than what meets the eye.
Set inside the heritage-listed police station building in The Rocks, Sergeant Lok is an innovative dining room and bar, serving modern Chinese cuisine and heritage-inspired cocktails. In fact, diners can book a spot inside one of the building’s private “jail cells”, which retain the heritage of these historic jail cells (complete with original, lockable cell doors) for a truly remarkable experience.
As you’d expect, the menu at Sergeant Lok takes inspiration from the early history of The Rocks. In fact, the suburb used to be called “Little Canton” in the 1880s and is Australia’s oldest Chinatown. Known as the city’s “waterside underworld”, Little Canton was a world of secret handshakes, underground gambling, and even opium dens. These little touches have inspired much of the décor and interior design of Sergeant Lok to make it a truly memorable experience.
Head to Sergeant Lok this Valentine’s Day to enjoy the best of this restaurant’s signature modern Chinese menu. You’ll be greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival, then an amuse-bouche of house specialty oysters and tender beef tataki. Treat yourself to their famous house-made soy duck and king prawns crispy noodles to share, and complete the experience with a chocolate mousse to finish.
Plus, you’ll even have your gift-giving sorted as each table will receive a handmade rose bear as a complimentary gift for your date (valued at $40).
This delicious dining experience is just $98 per person. On February 14th, Sergeant Lok will be offering seatings at 6 pm and 8 pm. To find out more and book your spot, click here.
