Upstairs at The Oaks unveils a brand new 1930’s inspired look
The interiors of the upstairs rooms at The Oaks have had a brand spanking new makeover with a distinctive art deco feel. Channelling the 1930s, large murals in the pool rooms and the bold and colourful designs pay homage to the historical owners of this iconic Neutral Bay pub. After renovating the ground floor and outdoor areas in 2013, the current owners, the Thomas family, called upon leading interior stylist Sibella Court and her team at The Society Inc to head the redesign.
With a combination of art deco and art nouveaux influences, drawing inspiration from famous artists Sonia Delaunay and Clarice Cliff, there is certainly nothing muted about the revamp.
The new-look areas upstairs are well-suited for every occasion be it birthdays or conference meetings. With three unique spaces including Terrace & Spare Room, The Licensee’s Flat and The Dining Room, all available for events.
The Terrace & Spare Room is ideal for cocktail events with the adjoining Spare Room containing it owns private bar. The Terrace can hold up to 50 people in its spacious, weatherproof area overlooking the beer famous garden. With comfortable lounges and plenty of space for mingling, The Licensee’s Flat holds up to 60 people and is perfect for reunions, Christmas parties or a casual cocktail event.
The Dining Room is an intimate setting and a favourite for small groups. Boasting it’s own small private balcony with plenty of seating and table space it’s ideal for private dinner parties, small groups and meetings. The Dining Room has a capacity of 30 people with the bar just next door.
