The Newport is Here

Bars, Drink, Eat, Sydney / 23 March 2016

The highly anticipate new Merivale venue, The Newport, opens this Friday on the Northern Beaches. Being Good Friday everyone has a day off work and there’s usually a shortage of bottle shops open, so we are expecting big crowds at the venue formerly known as The Newport Arms.
This new hotspot will be heating up Autumn nights, looking over the stunning vista of Pittwater estuary. Executive chef Sebastian Lutaud, (previously of Tetsuya and Felix’s Bar and Bistro), will be leading the kitchen who are creating a whole new bar and dining experience.

The menu is set to reflect the Northern Beaches lifestyle, with a diverse marketplace of choices, from a Burger Shack, to fresh seafood (with the classic fish and chips) and smoked Australian meats. There will also be a juice bar and freshly-brewed coffee, pastries and donuts from The Kiosk. There will also be slices of wood-fired pizza from Vinnie’s Pizza.
As for drinks, there will be some famous Merivale cocktails making an appearance including the Yuzu from Ms G’s, Miami Vice, even a Strawberry Slushie, as well as a wide selection of wine, beer and quintessentially Sydney drinks to try.
Keep your ears open for some amazing events happening over the next few weeks, starting with the Easter Weekend, hosting easter egg hunts and a petting zoo. There will be retro-style games for the kids (and adults) including a giant magnetic Scrabble Board, badminton and ping pong tables.
Sunday Sessions are, of course, in full swing from the first weekend with some local and international acts rocking out on the beach, with Gypsy & The Cat on the 3rd of April and more.
Looks like summer isn’t the only time we’re going to hit the beach.
