The Grounds is transforming into a Willy Wonka-inspired dessert wonderland

Eat, Sydney / 24 July 2019

You can expect giant neon lollipops, jumbo sweets and more at The Grounds Garden of Sweets dessert markets.

The Grounds of Alexandria are no strangers to a stunning installation, and now they’re taking things to new, sugary heights with the launch of the Garden of Sweets. Kicking off on Friday 26th July and running until Sunday 22nd September, now is your chance to immerse yourself in a sensory world of colour, light and eccentricity, inspired by Willy Wonka himself.

Open daily from 7am until late (with free entry!), the installation promises giant neon lollipops, jumbo sweets and plenty of vibrant florals. If you are looking to up your gram game, take this as the perfect opportunity.

To celebrate the launch of the new installation, The Grounds is also hosting a special after-hours dessert market, dedicated to all things delicious. Running for two days only this Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July from 6pm-10pm, you can expect a devilish assortment of food carts to appease each and everyone of you sweet tooths.

You’ll be riding on a sugar high well into the night, with coloured waffle cones, freshly baked doughnuts, lolly carts and a hot chocolate fondue station with fresh fruit, brownie cubes, choc chip cookies and more on offer.

Entry is just $10pp, with kids under 10 years able to enter for free.

If sweets aren’t your style, you can otherwise take your pick from The Grounds’ classic savoury options, with The Potting Shed taking dinner bookings.
