The Festival Of The Pig

Eat, Restaurants, Sydney / 12 November 2014

Sagra di Maiale also known as the pig’s wedding, is an Italian festival of the pig- a celebration of friends, family and community. It’s an occasion that involves the butchering of the pig which is then shared amongst everyone. Traditionally, the meat from the pig is then used throughout the year by turning it into sausages, proscuitto, and other cured meats.

You are invited to celebrate this festival with Executive Chef and PorkStar, Massimo Mele. Join the family-style pork feast at La Scala on Jersey next Wednesday, to experience good Italian food and wine. Don’t worry, the pig is not butchered in front you!
For $110 per head you can experience a four course feasting menu, featuring authentic pork dishes from Campania region. The meal will also be accompanied with wines from De Bortoli such as 2014 La Boheme Pinot Gris and 2010 Riorret Balnarring Pinot Noir. As a one-night-only dinner event, booking is essential.
