Big-name chefs, tasty food, decadent drinks and live music: YCK Laneways is back with a six-week festival for all the senses.
Fusing cuisine and cocktails, community and creativity, YCK Laneways is back with a six-week festival running from April 11 – May 22. Fittingly titled YCK Intersections, it’s a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the crème de la crème of all things food, culture and music.
Perfect for foodies, YCK has partnered with a trio of celebrity chefs including the fun-loving Manu Feildel, pastry chef Anna Polyviou and clean-eating foodie Luke Hines, each of whom will design a select series of dishes on offer at participating YCK venues. Titled Chef’s Selection, hungry punters can expect Luke’s famous loaded sweet fries with lime guac and cashew sour cream, a serving of Manu’s Hervey Bay scallops with XO butter and a fun spin on Anna’s iconic cookie dough dessert.
And if you’re in the market for learning a new set of skills, look no further. Taking place between April 22 – 24, the festival will offer a series of masterclasses – from learning how to craft the perfect cocktail with world-class bartenders, to oyster shucking with Sydney Oyster Farm Tours, and authentic pasta making classes with Mannaggia a Trois, there really is something to suit every appetite.
And if you love nothing more than getting down to a bit of live music, look no further – as there will be three epic nights of melodies with Barrack Street headliners, including dance sensation Sneaky Sound System, singer-songwriter Wafia and upcoming Brisbane rapper Day1 – offering revelers the perfect way to celebrate as day turns to night!
With epic dance parties, magicians, caricatures, jazz performances, tarot readings, and so much more on offer, this six-week festival really has something for everyone.
Of the festival, Vice President of YCK Laneways and President of the Independent Bars Association Karl Schlothauer said, “As a collective, we strive to create unique experiences that not only showcase what each of our incredible venues has to offer but also inspires Sydneysiders to rediscover our wonderful city.”
He continued, “the power of collaboration has been evident in YCK’s success since launch, so we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s best chefs and an impressive pool of DJs, musicians and entertainers, to entice people back out and let the good times roll.”
