Drink, Eat, Sydney / 6 April 2022

Eat your way through the Easter long weekend with our ultimate guide!

The Easter long weekend is nearly upon us, so it’s time to start planning your long weekend itinerary. One of our favourite things to do with our extra two days off is eat our way through Sydney and we’ve rounded up some delicious things happening for you to take advantage of.

New Winter Menu at Beast&Co, Surry Hills

If you’re looking to indulge, Surry Hills institution Beast&Co have launched their brand new menu inspired by the produce of the cooler months. The menu style is Bohemian European with dishes taking inspiration from the owner’s traditional Czech family recipes. Bring your family around to enjoy a 3-course set menu for just $69pp. You’ll begin on a lighter note with Baked Beetroot, goat’s cheese and honey walnuts, followed by Lamb Shank slow cooked in a rich red wine sauce or Fish Of The Day with potato rosti and buttery fish broth. The finale is a rich chocolate tart but we’d suggest pairing it with their new cocktail which is a twist on the classic Apricot Flip with Apricot Brandy and Cognac. Beast&Co will be open from 5-10pm on Friday, 11am-11pm on Saturday and 11am-10pm on Sunday. Book your table here.

Choc Marshmallow Gelato at Gelatissimo, 40 locations aross Australia

If your idea of a long weekend well spent is lapping it up on the couch and watching movies with a tub of gelato, Gelatissimo has the ultimate treat for you. The team has just launched their special Chocolate Marshmallow Gelato just in time for Easter festivities. It’s packed full of chocolate-covered marshmallow chunks and an indulgent chocolate ripple. The best part? You won’t be able to tell it’s non-dairy. Available at all Gelatissimo stores this April for pick up or delivery while stocks last. Find your nearest store here.

If you’re looking to spend your weekend sipping cocktails and dancing to live music, the historic Marble Bar at Hilton Sydney is your party. The underground bar is bustling with live music from 8pm every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. They’ve also launched a Nightcap Menu that unlocks discounted beverages and a delicious snack menu. Between 10pm – 12am Tuesday through to Saturday, get 30% off premium whiskies and $18 cocktails. Golden Sheaf, Double Bay

Live music, cocktails and chocolate – these are a few of our favourite things! Double Bay’s entertainment hub Golden Sheaf has organised an epic lineup of live music to play this Easter long weekend. Jesse James will kick off the celebrations on the 18th of April with the Disco Bunny Sheaf Wednesday Party followed by Odd Mob, Discover (The Daft Punk Tribute Show) and many more. From live DJs, bands and acoustic artists, your senses will be delighted over five huge days. What would like music be without a cocktail in hand? Try the Choc-Honeycomb Old Fashioned served in a chocolate easter egg and a decadent egg dessert to match. Festivities are happening from Wednesday 13th to Monday 17th of April. Find out more here.

Italian Feast at Osteria Coogee

Sustainable Seafood Recipes from Manu Feildel

We all know seafood is synonymous with Easter but we often don’t think about how we can shop and cook sustainably over the festive season. Manu Feildei is here to help, having teamed up with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), international non-profits to share tips on how to make future friendly seafood choices. His suggestion is to choose seafood with the blue MSC label for wild-caught seafood and the green ASC label for responsibly farmed seafood. He’s also shared a bunch of delicious recipes including Pan-roasted Toothfish with a pipi chowder and the Kingfish Ceviche with sweet potatoes and leche de tigre. Download the ASC and MSC Fish Forever recipe book. Be sure to look out for the MSC blue fish tick and the ASC green label on seafood to ensure a future full of fish.
