Sydney Festival Is Back This Summer For 21 Jam-Packed Days of 130+ Events

Festivals, Play, Sydney / 18 November 2020

Get ready for a huge dose of arts, culture, and entertainment this January at Sydney Festival 2021.

Now in its 44th year, the iconic Sydney Festival is returning for another year in January 2021. This year, expect three weeks of art, music, theatre, comedy, and cultural events from January 6th to 26th. But like all events and festivals these days, things will look a little different this summer.

Sydney Festival 2021 will boast a 21-day program of 130+ small-scale events featuring an all-Australian line-up of creative talent. The jam-packed program has been curated by Artistic Director Wesley Enoch, with all events designed with capacity limits and social-distancing regulations in mind.

Expect an array of inspiring events spread across venues from Campbelltown to the CBD, many of which will be embracing the outdoors in 2021. Head to the newly developed pop-up stage at Barangaroo Reserve, The Headland, decked out with epic wide screens to give attendees close-up views of the performers. Get ready to see some of the festival’s biggest theatrical performances here, from Bangarra to Sydney Symphony, Paul Mac to Paul Capsis – over 16 nights for just $25 a ticket.

There’s plenty of other headline events coming to other venues across Sydney. Sydney Town Hall will be transformed into a tennis court, epic Australian-made music performances at Chippendale’s Seymour Centre as well as visual arts exhibitions at the Art Gallery of NSW and the MCA.

Don’t miss Sydney Festival’s Blak Out program, foregrounding First Nations voices with stories and performances from communities across Australia and New Zealand. Expect an array or dance, theatre, music, and performances.
