The new ‘Out & About’ scheme is giving NSW residents another reason to support hospitality and entertainment venues.
We don’t need to remind you that 2020 has been a challenging year. And for those working in the hospitality and entertainment industries, it’s been one of the toughest. So, to help these venues get back on their feet, the NSW government has launched a new scheme to help inject much-needed revenue into these sectors.
The Out & About scheme is giving all adults in NSW four $25 vouchers to spend on dining out and going out across NSW. These vouchers (worth a total of $100) are designed to support local hospitality, arts, and tourism providers across the state.
So, how does it work? You’ll need to have a MyServiceNSW account set up to ensure you receive your four vouchers when they come available in early 2021. You’ll be able to spend your vouchers at any business that has implemented a COVID safety plan and are registered as COVID safe.
That means you’ll have two vouchers to spend on dining out at restaurants, cafes, pubs, and clubs plus another two vouchers to spend on going out to performing arts centres, cinemas, amusement parks, and cultural institutions.
There are few conditions to how you can use your vouchers as well. You won’t be able to use your voucher to purchase booze, retail items, gambling, or cigarettes. Plus you can only use one voucher per transaction (meaning you can’t combine your vouchers to lower your bill).
This latest scheme is part of the State budget for 2021-21, and will come into effect from late January 2021. To find out more, click here.
