Australia’s leading contemporary art fair is returning to the Carriageworks from 9-12 September 2021.
Australia’s premier art fair, Sydney Contemporary, announced it will present a digital edition of 2021 Fair from 11 – 21 November due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 restrictions.
Carriageworks is renowned as a destination for boundary-pushing art and creativity. From after-dark foodie festivals celebrating local culinary talent to hosting exhibitions from artists locally and abroad, the precinct is committed to providing a platform for artists of every medium. This Spring, Carriageworks is bringing back Sydney Contemporary with its strongest fair to date in partnership with Moelis Australia. With previous years collectively attracting more than 112,000 collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts and recording more than $80 million in art sales, we suggest putting this year’s event on the calendar early.
Sydney Contemporary celebrates five days of curated exhibitions that appeal to the serious collector, art lover, and those curious about contemporary art. Alongside the galleries are curated sectors for installation and performance as well as an ambitious program that includes engaging panel discussions, guided tours, and educational workshops. The fair is also home to restaurants, bespoke bars, and cafes, making it an all-encompassing art and dining experience. This event provides all-important exposure to established and emerging artists, generating sales to sustain artistic livelihoods.
The full list of participating galleries for Sydney Contemporary 2021 will be announced in early May 2021.
