New Opening: The Head Chef From Belles Hot Chicken Has Opened A New Humble Chicken Shop, SUNDAY, In Potts Point

Eat, Sydney / 11 January 2021

Meet SUNDAY, the new Potts Point restaurant, and bar where hearty roast chicken takes centre stage.

As the weekend draws to a close, most of us are craving a delicious wholesome feed. No matter the season, a hearty roast dinner is a perfect way to round out the week. But if you want to let someone else do the cooking, this new Potts Point restaurant has you covered.

Meet SUNDAY, the new restaurant and bar bringing hearty mains and playful takes on the classic roast chook to Potts Point. This established foodie suburb is no stranger to culinary talent, now joined by Morgan McGlone (Owner and Head Chef at Belles Hot Chicken) and Chef Ryan Blagrove (Head Chef at Apera) who will be heading up the newly-launched SUNDAY.

As the name would suggest, SUNDAY celebrates the long-standing family tradition of gathering with family and friends for a hearty feed on a Sunday. But at this new rotisserie diner, you’ll score roast chicken, sides, and salads ‘worthy of your grandmother’s dining table’ every night of the week.

The kitchen will be serving beautiful Bannockburn Chickens that are free-range, chemical and hormone-free and raised in Gippsland, Victoria, cooked on a Rotisol (imported directly from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chelles, France). Expect an innovative menu of delicious comfort food, crafted using local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients.

On the menu, don’t miss a Chip Butty (a milk bun cheekily filled with chips, madras mayo, and fried curry leaves). a Choripan (featuring chorizo, home-made chimichurri, and crispy shallots on a soft roll), or the Sunday Waldorf (a spin on the classic dish including witlof, walnuts, apple, baby gem, and pickled grapes).

SUNDAY will also be slinging pre-batched cocktails from Jenna Hemsworth (2018 Bartender of the Year and the 2019 winner Australian BACARDÍ Legacy final). These four bespoke cocktails include a Cold Drip Martini from Room 10, Sunday Margarita, Aperol Spritz, and the classic Negroni, which are available in-store and to takeaway.

You’ll also find brews from premium independent brewer, Running with Thieves on tap, as well as a range of natural Australian wines.

SUNDAY is now open at 95 Macleay Street, Potts Point – open daily from 11:30 am till late. Find out more here.
