Summer Playground at Sydney Opera House

Play, Sydney / 11 January 2017

Schedule this weekend’s catch up at the Summer Playground

Drop everything, we have found the best spot for you and your family to relax this weekend. Back by popular demand, the Sydney Summer Playground at the Opera House returns for it’s fifth year. This time with a Coney Island inspired theme.
Strolling along the Western Broadwalk, you will find gourmet versions of carnival food ready to enjoy on a striped deckchair in the sun. New York gourmet hot dogs, burgers, fairy floss, toffee apples and buttered popcorn will be served. The carnival inspired menu from Portside Sydney’s hatted Head Chef Lauren Murdoch can be clicked on and visually enjoyed here.
In addition to keeping you fed and blessed with the iconic Sydney Harbour View, the Summer Playground at the Sydney Opera House also has a great music line-up. The eclectic mix of Sydney sounds will be played throughout each day with free entertainment for kids and families from 10am until late. Click here for the full Summer Playground Program, check out the list below for the most awaited musical treats.

  • Ali McGregor
  • Barry Morgan’s World of Organs
  • Bad B*tch Choir
  • All Our Exes Live in Texas
  • Lady Sings it Better
  • DJ Jack Sh*t

The Playground will be up and running from 6th – 29th of January, so plenty of time to test out the beach lounge chairs, build a sandcastle and sip on half priced Chandon S cocktails. Remember, the event is free so no need to count the change in your pocket for entry fees.
Grab your sunnies and spend lazy arvo’s at the Opera House’s Western Boardwalk this summer, you’ll be doing yourself a favour. The beach isn’t going anywhere and neither are all the travellers so try somewhere new this summer.
PS: Please note, if you’re attending a performance this January, the offer for half price Chandon S cocktails are only available while stock lasts, terms and conditions apply.
