Splendour In The Grass Is Hosting A Virtual Festival This Weekend

Play, Sydney / 19 July 2021

Experience the world’s first virtual music festival with headlining performances from The Killers & Khalid.

Splendour In The Grass is one of Australia’s biggest music festivals inviting over 40,000 people to North Byron Parklands each year. The three-day festival takes place every July and is the perfect excuse for Sydneysiders to dust off their camping gear and head north for a summer-ish holiday. You can always expect back to back performances from Australia’s biggest artists and even international superstars that you’d only dreamed of seeing. Each year’s lineup compares to the loft standards of the last and tickets are almost guaranteed to sell out within hours. We’ve seen OutKast, Florence & The Machine, Tame Impala, Childish Gambino, and even Kendrick Lamar take the stage, and this year’s lineup was set to be just as impressive with headlines including Gorillaz, The Strokes and Tyler The Creator.

For the second year in a row (thanks COVID) the festival has been cancelled with the 2021 festival being rescheduled to November. If you missed out on tickets or you’re not feeling optimistic about a lockdown free Sydney, we’d like to introduce you to Splendour XR, the brand new virtual music festival experience that is set to unite bands and music lovers across the globe during the lockdown. The festival will run for two days only, this weekend on the 24th and 25th of July.

What can you expect? The festival will feature never-before-seen live sets that have been created especially for the virtual event. From headliners like Khalid and The Killers, as well as a hefty list of Australian talent including Tash Sultana, Violent Soho, Vance Joy, The Jungle Giants and Ocean Alley, it’s set to be a festival you won’t soon forget.

Tickets are cheap as chips at just $30 for one day or $50 for two days. You’ll even be able to view the performances for seven days afterwards, which is something you can’t say for real-life festivals.
What’s on the menu? You can now bring a taste of Splendour to your lounge room with this DIY cocktail kit. Splendour XR and Cocktail Porter have combined forces to bring you the famous Strummer Cocktail. You might remember it fuelling your drunk conversations at the last festival, or perhaps you remember its passion fruity gingery goodness. The box set includes everything you need to make 10 of your own Strummer Cocktails and you can have it delivered to your door for $99. Order online here

So, hit up your friends, get some tickets and get ready to party! Tip: You can create your own schedule so you and your mates can hop between stages and virtually meet up.
