Don’t fear the absence of restaurant-quality food during this lockdown. These adored restaurants across Sydney are now offering takeaway!

Sydney is in lockdown, yet again. Luckily, these iconic restaurants across Sydney have pivoted their offering to takeaway. What does this mean for us foodies? It means we can still enjoy restaurant-quality food including finer dining style dishes, top-notch vino, and even their signature cocktails from the comfort of our own home. We have curated a list of the best restaurants that don’t usually offer takeaway but now are during lockdown 2.0.

Alpha, Sydney

For top-notch Greek food in Sydney, we’d go Alpha every time. The restaurant has introduced a weekly take-home menu available for pick-up and delivery from Tuesday to Saturday. ‘Alpha At Home’ includes crowd favourites such as their meze offerings, Spanakopita, and Greek Spiced Slow Roasted Lamb. Dear Saint Eloise, Potts Point

Up the ante with a Dear Saint Eloise Date Night Pack for two, for just $65. The menu changes weekly but you’ll see dishes like Braised Beef Short Ribs, Jerusalem Artichoke Cassoulet and Paris Mash. Bistro Clementine, Pyrmont

This local gem is offering all of their bistro classics takeaway, every day. If you’re feeling fancy or want to up the romance in the house, we suggest ordering their dinner set menu available on Friday, July 2. For $120, you’ll get house-made Rosemary Focaccia, Braised Beef Cheek Pappardelle, salad, Tiramisu, and a bottle of wine. Find out more here

Continental Deli, Newtown

For cheese, charcuterie, and canned cocktails, we suggest hitting up Continental Deli Bar & Bistro. The deli shelves are stacked high with everything you need to get through lockdown in style. They’re also offering a special Basque Cheesecake by the slice, half or whole depending on how many housemates you have. Osteria Coogee, Coogee

As the weather cools down, digging into a bowl of homemade pasta is what we’re all craving. Bringing the best of Italian cuisine to you is Osteria Coogee. From Truffle Porcini Gnocchi, Lamb Ragu Parpadelle, Fresh Garlic Bread for dipping, and Tiramisu with Ameretto and Mascarpone, you won’t be left at home hungry. You can order online here

Arthur, Surry Hills

Surry’s favourite date night spot is doing takeaway and it’s nothing like their regular menu. The chefs have created a different special for Wednesday through to Sunday. Wednesday you see Angus Beef Short Rib Tacos, Thursday is Sichuana Chicken Dan Dan, Friday is Pork & Mushroom Lasagne, Saturday is Australian Curry and Sunday is Slow Cooked Duck Cassoulet. We never thought we’d see these dishes on the menu at Arthur, but damn they sound good. You can order online here

Saint Peter, Paddington

The Saint Peter x Fish Butchery lockdown spin-off is back! Each day, Josh Niland and his team will prepare a different meal that you can cook at home. With all the ingredients and cooking instructions, you will be able to feed two people from your home. You can order online here

Cicciabella, Bondi Beach

Bondi’s favourite Italian eatery has reopened and is now serving “Takeaway For The Home” packs. The almost-ready meals just require you to cook the pasta, and includes dishes such as Ricotta, Prosciutto, Focaccia, hand-rolled Strozzapreti with an Osso Buco Ragu and Tiramisu. Bar Suze, Surry Hills

This Scandinavian bistro has morphed into a takeaway Fish & Chip shop this lockdown. From Beer-Battered Flathead, Crumbed Sardines, and Fried Halloumi, you’ll have all the comfort food you need to get through the lockdown. The menu is available Monday to Saturday from midday until sold out so we suggest getting there quick! Find out more here

Olio, Chippendale

Bring a little piece of Sicily to your home with Olio takeaway! They have introduced a ‘Str’eats of Sicily’ concept where a food cart will be on Kensington Street from 12pm – 8pm Tuesday to Sunday. The menu will change depending on availability, but you can expect Triple-Cooked Octopus, Smoked Buffalo Burrata, Artisinal Squid Ink Pasta, Pork Ragu Parpadelle and Tiramisu. They’ve even got a range of Sicilian wines and local drops available.

Giro, Cronulla Beach

Cronulla’s favourite Italian has gone takeaway and the whole town is talking about it. You can now enjoy all their classics from Antipasto Boards, Polenta Chips with Truffle Mayo, Gnocchi, Pappardelle Duck Ragu, and Spaghetti Meatballs, all from the comfort of your own home. Porcine, Paddington

Renowned laneway Mexican restaurant and bar have launched their home set menus. Each menu offers a varied selection of Esteban favourites, portioned for two and served to share. INDU, Sydney CBD

Experience a celebration of Sri Lankan village culture and flavours with INDU takeaway. From heartwarming curries for these colder days, slow-cooked meats and even an array of vegan and vegetarian appropriate dishes, no one in your household will be left at home hungry. Hello Auntie, Marrickville

Hello Auntie has opened its kitchen 7 days a week (lunch and dinner) for the first time ever to provide us with Vietnamese goodness throughout lockdown! Their ‘Feed Me At Home’ Feasts include favourites like Xa Lach Ga Nuong (Lettuce Heart Salad with Grilled Chicken), Cha Gio (Veggie Spring Rolls), Tom Toi (Prawns, Garlic Puree, Smoked Capsicum) and Banh Ca Phe (Vietnamese Tiramisu). Lotus Dining Group Restaurants, Various Locations

Lotus Dining Group has introduced a brand-new takeaway menu that will be available for pick-up from Madame Shanghai, Lotus Dumpling Bar and Lotus Double Bay. Expect to see all your favourites on the menu including Dumpling Bar’s scallop siu mai and truffle fried rice, Madame Shanghai’s Kung Pao chicken, and Double Bay’s tea-smoked duck with Davidson plum sauce. Bar Zini, Pyrmont

Another lockdown is upon us, but Bar Zini in Pyrmont is not letting this ‘hamper’ their spirits. Chef-Owner Damian Krigstein has put together an epic five-course Italian hamper that will transport you to the trattorias of Italy in no time. Every Thursday and Friday, Bar Zini is offering a five-course hamper for 2 with a bottle of wine at an astounding $120. Highlights include the Burrata with housemade Rosemary Foccacia, Pipi Orecchiette with chili, parsley and bottarga and of course Crispy Pork Belly with cauliflower puree and salsa verde. Rice Pantry is launching a banging Lockdown Takeaway Menu. The team will be offering their famous Rice Bowls, mind-blowing Vietnamese Fried Chicken Burgers, and mouth-watering Baos available for pick up from St Peter’s (Monday onwards) and Marrickville (Wednesday onwards). Pacific Club, Bondi

Pacific Club are offering their decadent “At Home” experience for all customers who love to celebrate the finer things in life. They’ll be offering some of their signature small plates, snacks or large plates to be delivered straight to their door. The new Whole Roasted John Dory is a must-try this winter. The Star Restaurants, Pyrmont

Looking for a fine dining experience at home? Look no further than The Star restaurants. The chefs from Sokyo, BLACK Bar & Grill and The Fat Noodle have crafted special set menus designed to share between two. Think Sokyo’s Miso-glazed Toothfish, BLACK Bar & Grill Short Ribs and Fat Noodle Seafood Curry Laksa. Eight Dining, St Leonards

The newly opened restaurant in St Leonards Square is offering an ever-evolving menu of takeaway specials during the lockdown. With a focus on fresh, seasonal and local cuisine, the current menu features Tacos and Margaritas, Burgers and Tsingtao, Charcuterie Boards and wine, and more. There’s also a number of delicious share plates from Garlic Prawns, Buffalo Wings, or Crispy Pork Belly. They’ll be offering takeaway for pick up and delivery from breakfast through to dinner. Bel & Brio, Barangaroo

Bel & Brio has become a corporates favourite lunch spot in Barangaroo and with their new takeaway offering, that doesn’t have to change. The full menu and all of its Italian goodness are up for delivery this lockdown, including the drops in the cellar. The food menu highlights include Tagliatelle Bolognese, Crab Spaghetti, Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder and a range of wood-fired pizzas. Feel as though you’ve escaped to Bali with a takeaway order from Salt & Palm. Enjoy a Mini Indonesian High Tea for $40 featuring Kue Lumpur, Dadar Gulang and Bolu Keju, or indulge in a Balinese Feat that offers a West Javanese experience through sharing a banquet of traditional rice and side dishes for $55. Three Blue Ducks have launched new ‘Weekend Feast’ boxes for $75, serving two, which are prepped and ready for pick up from the Bronte cafe to finish at home. The menu caters to all tastes including meat-eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians. The menu features Roasted Cauliflower, Provenir Beef Short Ribs, Mark LaBrooy’s Tiramisu, and more. Alibi Bar & Kitchen, Woolloomooloo

Vegans and vegetarians, we’d recommend a takeaway order from Alibi Bar & Kitchen. Their full plant-based ‘Dirty Greens’ bar menu will be available for takeaway including the Alt Meat Co Cheeseburger, Fysh and Chips, Mac n ‘Cheese’ Balls and Jalapeno Loaded Fries. Find out more here

Drake Eatery, Bondi

Drake Eatery will be offering its full menu and takeaway wine and cocktails. They will also be bringing back some of the Drake-away favourites such as the Duck Lasagne for two and the Brussel Sprouts with mint, honey, seeds, parmesan and vinaigrette. Find out more here

North Bondi Nami

The old North Bondi Fish has transformed into North Bondi Nami for the winter and lockdown isn’t stopping them from slinging you ramen! They’re offering an abridged menu of warming meals and snacks including Tonkotsu Ramen, Daily Market Sashimi, Gyoza, Charred Edamame with Togarashi Chilli, Soba Noodle Salad and Ora King Salmon. Also available is the ‘Nami Package’ including prawn gyoza, 2 ramens, and 1 Big Mood Cocktail 500ml (choice of negroni, passionfruit margarita or lychee martini, 5 serves) all for $88. Find out more here

Single O, Surry Hills

Single O is serving up a limited takeaway menu via their Surry Hills cafe all week including plant-based favourites such as Spiced Cauliflower and the Fried Eggplant Katsu Roll. They will also be serving up takeaway coffee, hot chocolate, chai and homebrew bundles. Find out more here

Chiswick, Woollahra

This Saturday 17 July, a selection of premium raw cuts from the Moran Family Farm will be available to take-away from Chiswick, accompanied by a Matt Moran recipe card to recreate the perfect steak at home. Chiswick has also introduced new pescetarian and vegetarian bake-at-home specials including a Fish Pie + Spinach, Preserved Lemon and Feta Filo Pie, available in limited numbers to order ahead and collect in-venue on Saturdays. This is in addition to the ‘Chiswick at home’ menu, available from Tuesday to Sunday. Menu highlights include the ‘Winter Lamb’ and ‘Winter Chicken’ packages (each serve 3-4), plus a bake-at-home strawberry and apple crumble to finish. Order online here

Nomad, Surry Hills

NOMAD is offering their ‘NOMAD At Home’ takeaway packs for two, available Monday to Saturday until sold out. The menu is updated daily pending produce available, to which the team releases via their Instagram and newsletter each morning. See what’s on offer this week here

Efendy, Balmain

Efendy has brought back its soup and pide cart serving free lentil soup and pide bread to the local community. The soup and pide will be available from 4pm daily throughout lockdown, for as long as stock allows. An honesty box will be available accepting gold coin donations from those in the position to help Efendy support staff until they are able to reopen. For those looking to recreate the Efendy experience at home, a takeaway Turkish Feast is also available with homemade Turkish bread, dips, mixed meat and vegetable pides, and baklava. Roxy’s, Double Bay

This brand new restaurant in Double Bay has officially opened! Bringing the good food directly to your dining room, Head Chef Denzer Aseoche has created a seasonal menu to be updated weekly. At $69 for two and a simple ten minutes in the oven at home, the debut selection is sure to keep the locals satisfied until they can visit in person. Find out more here

Kitchen By Mike, Sydney CBD

The team have designed a delicious new at-home offering as the restaurant is unable to reopen. They will be offering nourishing dinner boxes to take the stress out of cooking. Each contains 5 meals for a family of 4/5. The boxes feature all the favourites including Fish Cakes, Pot-roasted Lamb, Wagyu Beef Pot Pie and Sourdough, all delivered to your door.
