Neutral Bay’s favourite taco spot is taking us to Mexico with a ‘Dinner & A Show’ this month.
SoCal Neutral Bay, the vibrant Sydney restaurant known for its laid-back Californian spirit and delicious Southern Californian-inspired fare, is inviting you to a fiesta you won’t forget!
Brought to you by the renowned Applejack Hospitality group, SoCal captures the essence of the Golden State – think fresh, modern “share-style” street food bursting with Latin American spices, alongside house-made sauces, and indulgent sides.
This May, get ready to embark on a south-of-the-border adventure without leaving Sydney. SoCal is hosting two exclusive “Taste of Mexico: Dinner & Show” events on May 9th and 23rd, promising an unforgettable journey for your senses.
A bespoke banquet has been curated by Head Chef Joel Doyle, each dish bursting with the vibrant flavours of Mexico. As you indulge, a live Mexican dance performance will transport you to the heart of the fiesta, leaving you breathless and wanting more. The evening starts off with the SoCal Guacamole and Kingfish Aguachile, before moving on to the star of the show: a crispy crackling pork knuckle. A selection of tortillas and salsas allows for endless customisation, while the refreshing cabbage and jalapeno slaw add a delightful crunch. Don’t forget to save room for dessert – the coffee leche flan and churros with chocolate sauce are the perfect way to end the evening.
Priced at $64 per person for the shared feast, you can also upgrade your experience and add a $15 Olmeca ALTOS margarita on arrival! Bookings require a minimum of two people and take place between 6 pm and 7 pm for a 2.5-hour sitting.
But the south-of-the-border fun doesn’t stop there! Throughout May, celebrate Cinco de Mayo at SoCal with their regular menu boasting an array of signature Mexican dishes, perfect for a casual yet flavourful escape. And because no fiesta is complete without margaritas, SoCal is serving them up for just $15 throughout the month thanks to Olmeca Altos! Head over during Happy Hour every Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 6:30 pm or double the value on Tuesdays with plates of tacos for just $4!
And if you’re looking for another excuse to put on your sombrero, gather your crew and test your mettle at the annual SoCal Chilli Eating Contest. Bragging rights and the champion’s title are up for grabs, so bring your heat tolerance and an empty stomach.
