Like so many businesses, the team from long-standing providore market Simon Johnson has had to pivot as a result of the Coronavirus. Since 1992, Simon Johnson has been supplying premium ingredients and artisan goods to chefs and home cooks across Australia. With stores across NSW and VIC, these marketplaces have been providing top-notch goods to restaurants around the country for over 30 years. And now, you can score these goods at a serious discount.
In late April, Simon Johnson quietly closed the doors to their Alexandria store. During this time, the team worked to transform the shop into a permanent, direct-to-consumer clearance store. Stocked up with bulk and wholesale items alongside their standard retail offering, the SJ Warehouse Clearance Store was born.
Opened to the public on May 8th, the new outlet store offers discounted goods started at 35% off (with some items reduced as much as 90%). The range will change seasonally, including fine food, foie gras, caviar, artisanal condiments, farmhouse cheeses and more. Plus, you’ll still be able to find the store’s usual range of food, homewares, gifts and more available.
And for those that are bunkering down at home, you can get your dose of Simon Johnson goods delivered to your door. The team has created a range of Isolation Hampers (with free home delivery to the Sydney metro area). Expect everything from a gourmet Caviar Tasting Box ($227.27) to a Cheese & Treats Box ($90) and even the Ultimate Sandwich & Antipasto Hamper ($90).
