Visit Salt & Palm this month, the hidden Indonesian bar and restaurant in the heart of Glebe.
Dreaming of escaping to the beaches of Bali? The seasons might be changing, but there’s no reason you can’t keep the summer spirit alive this autumn. And if you’re looking to fast-track your next Bali holiday, we’ve found the must-try bar and restaurant to add to your radar.
Say hello to Salt & Palm, the buzzing Indonesian bar and restaurant located in the inner west on Glebe Point Road. This flavourful venue is led by an all-female team, with Head Chef and Owner Natasya Soetantyo leading the kitchen (and introducing a new mouth-watering share-style menu).
So, what can you expect from this new seasonal menu at Salt & Palm? The team will be serving up traditional Indonesian dishes with an innovative twist, crafted using seasonal local produce. Expect street-style satays, Balinese-style pork, and colourful desserts just to name a few.
Start your dining experience with Sate Kambing (lamb skewers marinated in candlenut, red onion, and sweet soy sauce) and a serve of lumpia sayur (vegetarian spring rolls). From the grill, you’ll score ayam bakar (grilled half chicken with your choice of sauce), and don’t miss the oh-so-succulent babi panggang (Balinese-inspired roast pork belly with crispy crackling).
For seafood lovers, don’t miss their Udang (featuring Australian jumbo king prawns) or cumi goreng (made with fried battered squid). And for the vegetarians, there’s vegan satay skewers, traditional rendang dry curry with mushrooms and potato and so much more.
From long lunches to date nights and after-work drinks, Salt & Palm is the perfect spot to visit. In fact, you can score a daily happy hour cocktail (available from 5-7pm daily), the perfect excuse to sip cocktails in their leafy courtyard retreat.
Find Salt & Palm at 22 Glebe Point Road, open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and lunch Thursday to Sunday. Book your spot here.
