Review: The Richmond Inn

Pubs, Sydney / 15 December 2021

The Richmond Inn has re-opened its doors after a million-dollar facelift!

Located in the outer western suburbs of Sydney and beside the Hawkesbury River, The Richmond Inn makes for a great road trip. Just a short hour or so drive from Sydney, you have access to beautiful bush walks and green trails along the river. After all the walking, no doubt you’ll be in the mood for a good pub feed and that’s when The Richmond Inn comes into play.

The Richmond Inn is your casual, everyday pub lunch spot serving up all the classics like steaks ($25-48) and schnitzels ($16). The hero of the renovation is the outdoor dining area sitting under a beautiful jacaranda tree, decorated with cacti and rustic brickwork. It’s also pet-friendly so no need to leave your pooch at home!

The new menu is approachable, designed by award-winning Chef Brad Sloane. Highlights include the Sunday Roast, daily specials and jugs of cocktails and beer. They have a full pizza menu including a 1m long pizza which is available for group bookings. The Chicken Schnitzel is also a key feature that is available every day for $16 and with an array of sauces and sides.
To start, you can’t go wrong with a dozen Sydney Rock oysters ($39), natural or Kilpatrick. You can find other casual classics like Mushroom & Pine Nut Arancini ($16) or Buffalo Wings ($16). Then for mains, if you want to venture further afield than burgers and steaks, try the Tiger Prawn Spaghetti ($28) or the Faloumi Chickpea & Haloumi Burger with a side of chips ($17).

A key part of their offering will be events with a dedicated onsite functions manager. Catering for both sit-down and roaming canape options, they can host up to 200 people in the beautiful luscious beer garden.

So next time you want to venture outside of Sydney for an adventure and feed, head to the Richmond Inn for a beer on the rustic patio! Find out more here
