A Free Food, Wine And Entertainment Festival Is Coming To Pyrmont

Drink, Eat, Play, Sydney / 18 April 2023

Experience the best of NSW’s food and wine scene from May 6-7.

Mark your calendars! The ever-popular Pyrmont Festival is making a comeback with a delicious lineup of food, wine tastings and live entertainment for the whole family. Set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour, the free festival will showcase the best of NSW’s culture, plus host a range of special events taking place all across Pyrmont until May 31.

This year’s Pyrmont Festival will feature more wineries than ever before, with 15 boutiques and wine selectors, including the iconic Peterson House. Alongside the Hunter Valley maker, wineries from Mudgee, Orange and Pokolbin will be spotlighted, highlighting the best of NSW wine-making. If you fancy drinking more than just wine, you’d be pleased to hear that beer and gin are not forgotten. The best local Sydney breweries will be in attendance, including Willie the Boatman, The Grifter Brewing Co and Yulli’s Brews. Byron Bay based Byron Gin will also make their way down for the occasion, so you can try their brews yourself in real life.

Seafood lovers will be in for a treat as stalls from the Sydney Fish Market take to Pyrmont Festival. Enjoy freshly shucked oysters and prawns brought by Cheeky Naked Oysters, as well as their famous Aburi Bar, which will be serving up blow-torched cheesy scallops both days. Local food trucks will also make an appearance, serving up freshly fried chicken, pizza and custom-made loaded brownies to finish off your food adventures.

There’s only so much you can jam-pack into 2 fun days, so the festivities will continue into the month with a curated ongoing program through to 31st May. Head over to Porters Liquor for daily wine tastings of their best sellers, or take an ‘Introduction to Wine’ course at Sydney Wine Centre. There will also be weekly trivia nights held at the Terminus Hotel (with great laughs to be had), Sydney Seafood School classes and an unmissable After Party to celebrate Pyrmont Festival in style.

The Pyrmont Festival will be held from May 6 and 7 at 11am – 5pm, Pirrama Park. Entry is free and the event is suitable for all, including children.
