The Delivery Game Has Been Changed Forever, Meet Providoor

Eat, Sydney / 21 July 2021

Providoor has expanded to NSW, now delivering hatted restaurant food to your home during the lockdown and beyond.

Every week we see more restaurants pivot their offering to takeaway, but hardly ever do we see hatted restaurants included in those lists. Luckily for us, Providoor is stepping up the delivery game and making top restaurant food accessible to us to enjoy at home. This brand new service will enable us to get a restaurant-quality experience at home with food prepared by Sydney’s top chefs. Unlike other third-party delivery services, you can guarantee the food is just as good as you’d get in the restaurant, and that’s the aim of the Providoor game.

This boutique food delivery service was founded last year by one of Melbourne’s most renowned chefs, Shane Delia. His aim was to drive more revenue into hatted restaurants around the city and he did just that when he was able to put $40 million back into those restaurants within a year. In Melbourne, you can find Cumulus Inc., Supernormal, Maha, Entrecôte, Longrain, Gingerboy and Guy Grossi’s Grossi A Casa on the Providoor restaurant list, and Sydney’s is just as impressive. Providoor will launch with partners including Cirrus, Monopole, Yellow, The Apollo, Cho Cho San, Icebergs Dining Room + Bar, Golden Century, Spice Temple, Rockpool and Ciccia Bella.

Providoor has just announced new additions including Lankan Filling Station, DOC Sydney, Fratelli Paradiso, Hubert, Alberto, Shady Pines, Baxter inn, Icebergs, Nour, Bistrot 916 and Otto (see more below). People from NSW, ACT and VIC will be able to order Neil Perry at Home and cook along with him from the comfort of our own homes. Find out more here

So what makes this delivery service so different? I’m sure there have been countless times you’ve got dinner delivered and it’s arrived cold or unassembled. Third-party deliveries are unreliable and Providoor takes out the risk for restaurant owners and hungry customers. The concept has been developed by chefs and restaurateurs with a quality product as top priority. Providoor completely reworks the home delivery model to ensure high-quality meals are enjoyed as the chef intended.

Chef and Owner of the Bentley Restaurant Group Brent Savage said, “Last year amid lockdown we moved quickly to an at-home offer. The biggest hurdle was how to get our food to the diner at home. Providoor is providing that solution. It will not only ensure our food is delivered to the standard we want, but it will also help us reach a new audience.”

So how does it work? The meals are prepared by chefs in the restaurant and delivered via certified cold freight. All the dishes are prepared and ready to be finished by the customer at home which means you can take part of the credit for a restaurant-quality meal.

Delia said, “I’m beyond thrilled to be expanding Providoor to New South Wales. Our initial plans had us launching later in the year, however with much of the state under tough lockdown restrictions we’ve fast-tracked that. Sydney is home to some of the best restaurants in the world, and after the success so many Melbourne restaurants continue to see on the Providoor platform, I’m looking forward to Sydney restaurants seeing similar results.”

Povidoor takes orders by 4pm for next-day delivery in Sydney metro. The food is delivered for a flat $16.50 fee.
