Oribu: Elevating Japanese Fine Dining In Western Sydney

Eat, Sydney / 8 November 2023

Experience a new era of dining as Parramatta welcomes its inaugural Japanese fine dining venture within Heritage Lounge.

While there’s no shortage of excellent Japanese restaurants throughout Sydney, Oribu is joining the scene at a pivotal time. Once thought of as just a ‘satellite city’ the Parramatta region is coming of age as Sydney’s ‘second hub’ and this new fine diner is placed right in the heart of it on Church Street.

Redefining what it means to sit in a Japanese fine dining establishment, this 120-seat venue is the first of its kind in the area and brings elegance to all meal styles. Head chef Harry Cho brings over two decades of experience, including a stint at the world’s most notable Japanese restaurant, Nobu.

Harnessing cooking skills honed from his Korean father and Japanese mother, Chef Cho transforms fresh ingredients into culinary masterpieces such as popcorn prawns with creamy spicy sauce and yuzu juice. Other innovative dishes housed in the a la carte menu include yuzu guacamole with lotus chips & yukari salt, tempura enoki mushroom with truffle oil, and a basil and lime tart for dessert. Of course, for those who are looking for the more traditional sushi experience, there are maki rolls, nigiri and sashimi, but with the specialties on offer, it might be hard to make a choice.

Guests of the venue can also take advantage of Oribu’s Chef’s Tasting Menu which features delights such as hiramasa kingfish carpaccio, grain-fed tenderloin brochettes and a divine yuzu sorbet, all perfectly encapsulating Chef Cho’s devotion to the culinary art.

But if you really want to get fancy, there’s Oribu’s $250 omakase platter that showcases 60 pieces of the freshest and highest quality seafood available. We’re talking oysters, cooked tiger prawns, scallops, citrusy seafood ceviche and more. It’s the ultimate shared and striking experience.

Oribu invites food enthusiasts to savour Japanese cuisine at its finest. Book your seat at the table to taste Chef Harry Cho’s signature menu. Visit https://heritagelounge.com.au/oribu/ for more information and to make a reservation today.
