Lobby Boy is the latest venture for The Grounds’ crew, now open in the heart of North Sydney.
It’s been an institution in Sydney’s cafe scene for the better part of a decade. Drawing crowds from across Sydney and beyond, The Grounds of Alexandria has cemented its place as one of our city’s most iconic dining spots. And a visit to this venue isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s a sprawling wonderland of markets, farm animals, floral installations and dining spaces aplenty. In fact, you’ll find three venues tucked away inside the Alexandria precinct, from their lively Potting Shed bar to the infamous cafe serving freshly brewed coffee and all the Instagrammable brunch items you can imagine.
And now, The Grounds’ family is expanding to welcoming a new venue across the bridge. In news just announced, Founder and Director of The Grounds Ramzey Choker has revealed the opening of Lobby Boy North Sydney. The new commuter-friendly cafe has opened its doors in the heart of North Sydney’s bustling business district and proves the first venue outside of the CBD for the team.
You’ll find Lobby Boy nestled in Northpoint Tower, occupying the lobby space of this office block. This latest opening is Chocker’s second collaboration with the architects at ACME and Cromwell Property Group, transforming neglected lobby spaces into memorable and inviting dining destinations.
This new North Sydney location comes off the back of the success of the Lobby Bar Eveleigh which opened in May 2019. Situated in the thriving South Eveleigh area, locals and nearby workers have grown to love this destination for its effortless efficacy and top-notch food and drink offering.
The result of this newest venue? Lobby Boy North Sydney presents an inviting eatery and hub for locals and commuters alike. Opening early to serve morning commuters heading into the city, the venue will be serving up all the breakfast classics, snacks as well as casual lunch options. Plus, you’ll be able to grab a fresh juice, smoothie and your morning coffee here, situated just a short walk from North Sydney station.
Lobby Boy hopes to shift perceptions about the grab-and-go cafe experience, turning this space that balances comfort and service. “Our goal for this space was to create a warm and relaxing environment to suit the modern workforce. We wanted to turn the Northpoint Tower lobby into the ‘lounge room’ of the office block, a community hub and the go-to place for catch-ups,” explains Choker.
Lobby Boy North Sydney is now open at Northpoint Tower, 100 Miller Street North Sydney open Mon to Wed 7:30 am to 4 pm, Thu and Fri 7:30 am to late and Saturday from 9 am to 2:30 pm. For more information, click here.
