School just got fun again thanks to NOMAD, with the launch of the luxe NOMAD Wine School series.
NOMAD is renowned for its strong wine focus, expertly reimagining the cellar door experience in the heart of the inner-city. Now they’re giving you the chance to improve your wine game, with the launch of NOMAD Wine School. This rotating series of masterclasses, kicking off in July and running until November, will see you enhance your knowledge of wine styles, grape varieties, viticulture and winemaking history.
Hosted by NOMAD’s Director of Wine, Simon Howland, your intimate group of no more than 20 guests will experience a fun wine education in the China Heights Gallery, located directly above the restaurant.
You’re in for the long haul at this wine school, with NOMAD Wine School classes running for a whopping 5.5 hours. Hosted once a month, the class will cover everything from the basics of wine tasting and appreciation to the impact of geography, climate and winemaker personality on wines from around Australia. Running from 11:00am to 4:30pm, you’ll get to taste between 10 – 12 wines throughout the day, so be sure to pace yourself. If you find something you love, you’ll also be able to purchase any of the sampled drops at the end of the day.
To soak up the wine tastings, NOMAD have got you covered with lunch included, alongside an afternoon cheese tasting. As for the lunch menu, expect the likes of slow roasted lamb shoulder with chermoula and jersey yoghurt and BBQ eggplant with black garlic, pickled chilli and soft herbs. Similar to downstairs, the dishes will draw from the restaurant’s dynamic and seasonally driven menu and will be updated regularly over the course of the year.
Have a little less time on their hands? NOMAD will also be offering a monthly 1.5 hour weekday evening masterclass. The masterclasses will be shorter, more focused on wine tastings and will hero a specific theme each month. Making for the perfect afterwork indulgence, the classes will run from 7:00pm-8:30pm, launching on Tuesday 24th July with a special NOMAD Winter Wines theme. Here you’ll be guided through 6 unique wines by a wine expert, alongside NOMAD cheese and charcuterie boards.
The sessions cost $250 for the full Saturday Wine School and $150 for an evening Masterclass and can currently be purchased via phone or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Sessions will be available via direct purchase at nomadwine.com.au from mid-July onwards. A full schedule can be found below!
