Maydanoz and Tulum, two of Australia’s most renowned Turkish restaurants, are set to join forces for an extraordinary culinary event on Thursday 26th October.
Restaurant-goers are showing a penchant for special dining events, and we’re observing a growing number of these happening across Sydney. If you’re someone who relishes these unique experiences, mark your calendar for an upcoming collaboration where two of Australia’s best Turkish restaurants come together in the heart of Sydney city.
The event will be set against the backdrop of Maydanoz, the trendy restaurant by Efendy Group, known for its plant-forward dining inspired by Turkey’s Aegean coastline. Ever since its opening in 2022, Maydanoz remains a standout in the culinary scene for Eat Drink Play.
Efendy Group’s Executive Chef Arman Uz and Coskun Uysal, the Owner and Head Chef of Melbourne’s renowned Tulum restaurant, will unite to present a special Turkish dinner on the 26th of October. With an impressive culinary background including leading the kitchen at the Hatted Turkish restaurant Tulum in Balaclava and experience in Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’, Coskun Uysal is set to provide guests with an extraordinary evening of hospitality.
Arman Uz’s culinary journey has been guided by some of Turkey’s most renowned chefs, including Somer Sivrioglu, the owner of Efendy Group. Currently overseeing the culinary programs at Efendy Group’s restaurants, including Maydanoz, Anason, and the recently opened Baharat, Arman Uz is known for his dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
The evening’s festivities will commence with a delightful array of cocktails and canapés before moving into the main menu. Highlights from the small plates include Lentil Kofte with simit, tarama, and white anchovy, Enginar with braised globe artichokes, potatoes, peas, and a camomile tea broth, and Su Boregi with Turkish borek, black truffle, and aged Turkish cheese.
From the larger plates guests will enjoy Icli Kofte with baked cumin lamb kibbeh pie and a cumin and buttermilk sauce. And for dessert, you can’t go past the Baklava with Turkish black tea mousse and smoked yogurt ice cream.
Many of these dishes are unfamiliar to even us, and we are eagerly anticipating embarking on a culinary journey that will not only expand our knowledge but also provide us with the opportunity to savour delectable cuisine.
This exclusive dinner event is available for one night only at Maydanoz on Thursday 26th October at 7pm. Tickets are $165 per person, and for those seeking to elevate their experience, an optional wine pairing will be available.
