Japan's Iconic Mario Kart Experience is Coming to Australia

Play, Sydney / 7 February 2018

It has taken Tokyo by storm and soon you’ll be able to channel your favourite Mario Kart character in Australia. Here we go!

Donning a Luigi costume, complete with his iconic green cap, puffy gloves and blue overalls will soon no longer be restricted to dress up parties, with a real life Mario Kart experience coming to Australia. Yes, you read correctly. If you’ve ever travelled to Japan, chances are you’ve seen adult size Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and the rest of the gang zipping around the streets of Tokyo.
The experience lets you pick out your favourite Mario Kart character before getting into somewhat precarious, individual go-karts. On designated courses, you get to collect stars to win epic prizes, all whilst checking out the city. In Tokyo, the go-karts are even fit out with Bluetooth speakers, letting groups chat between each other.
Not a lot is known about the Aussie version, but we can only hope that all this and more arrives to Australia.
According to the fairly information-lacking website, coined ‘Mushroom Racing’, tickets will be extremely limited, so we recommend signing up for pre-release tickets here.
As for the launch dates in both Sydney and Melbourne, these details have not yet confirmed. Nor are the locations. But be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as this experience is sure to be as loveable as Mario’s “A-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa!” catchphrase.
