From picnic hampers to a delectable 3-course dinner, see how Lavender Bay’s newest French restaurant is celebrating Bastille Day.

Put on your best beret and step into a world of French flair at Loulou’s epic Bastille Day celebration! Loulou’s Bistro, Boulangerie, and Traiteur are the ultimate French haven, transporting you straight to the streets of Paris. It’s going to be one to remember, with Head Chef Ned Parker’s specially curated menu, traditional cakes made to order, and an exclusive hamper you can share with up to 4 people.

Celebrate Bastille Day at Loulou’s bistro with an evening of food inspired by the flavours and aromas of the southern Provencal region. Head Chef Ned Parker has designed a delicious 3-course menu that will take you through a culinary journey, starting with house-made foie gras torchon, served with warm brioche and a selection of condiments. You can also indulge in Loulou’s modern take on the classic steak tartare; and a creamy scallop mousseline with school prawns and sauce aux crevettes. For the mains, take a trip to Provence and savour rainbow trout a la Provençale infused with aromatic herbs and spices, as well as a tender slow-cooked boeuf en daube (beef casserole). Both mains are served with a side of artichokes barigoule, potatoes, and salad. And, of course, no Bastille Day feast would be complete without a heavenly mousse au Chocolat and crepes’ suzette, topped with a rich orange sauce.

Want something to grab on the go and enjoy in your time? Loulou’s Boulangerie & Traiteur are keeping the Bastille Day spirit alive, serving up specials exclusive only to the weekend. From morning onwards, enjoy a slice of pissaladiere, France’s own unique take on a pizza. It’s topped with anchovies and olives, cooked to perfection on a deliciously thick and doughy base. Pair this with a traditional Mont Blanc cake, available in limited numbers for pre-order. This cake features layers of rich chestnut cream, meringue, and kokuto sugar ice cream, topped with a sherry and raisin jam, and caramelised chestnuts.

Enjoy all the French vibes at home or make it a picnic with Loulou’s Bastille Day Hamper, perfect for a group of four. Dive into blanquette de veaux, a traditional veal stew with fragrant riz pilaf, terrine de campagne, as well as a loaf of fresh sourdough has the perfect accompaniment, Also included in the hamper are cornichons, comte cheese, Provencale sausage and a medium Basque cheesecake for a sweet treat.

All of Loulou’s other delicious freshly baked sweet treats, breads, pates, and charcuterie will also be available all weekend. Bastille Day Celebrations will kick off on Friday 14 July. For more information, visit their website here
