A Living Colour Plant Giveaway is Happening this Weekend

Play, Sydney / 7 March 2018

Add a pop of colour to your home thanks to this FREE living colour plant and flower giveaway.

If you’ve been meandering around the CBD and its neighbouring suburbs, chances are you’ve seen the vibrant plantation boxes courtesy of City of Sydney. The activation, otherwise known as Living Colour, has been adding some extra colour to each commuters day since they were planted back in January. It’s part of a biannual event, where over 100,000 plants are put on display in and around the city.
With the turn of a new season, it is now time for these gorgeous displays to be 100 per cent recycled, which means you can pick them up for free! Running for one day only this Sunday 11th March from 8am, you can peruse over 5000 plants at Alexandria’s Sydney Park.
Visitors are simply asked to make a gold coin donation upon entry, with all funds going towards the RSPCA in exchange for a new plant. On the day you can expect everything from pots of rosemary, mint, thyme, marigold, coleus, westringia, dianella and laurentia. There will also be an array of native Australian plants that you can make your own.
If you can’t make it to Sydney Park, there will also be a small number of plants available at Town Hall, Glebe Library and the Ultimo Community Centre.
Be sure to get in quick! Plants are set to disappear very quickly this weekend.
